Behind, a walled garden with small lawn (table/chairs, barbecue, gate to back lane and parking space), a lovely leafy seating area and steps up to deck (2 chairs, garden loo) and back door. Path through garden used by residents of owner’s separate basement flat. 

Small front garden (lawn) with steps up to front door to entrance porch and hall; high-ceilinged living room with stripped floor (rug) and original shutters, huge sofas, big open fire, TV/Sky/DVD, iPod dock; kitchen/dining room (dishwasher, microwave, freezer, large larder fridge, range-style gas cooker/double oven) with long antique pine table. 

From hall, door to deck/back garden and stairs to first floor and two bedrooms – the master double (5’ bed, footboard), and a twin with garden view. Neat shower-room (suite) and good-sized bathroom (suite with roll-top bath plus hand-shower and separate shower). Further stairs up to second floor and two more bedrooms– a double (hanging rail for clothes) and a twin, both smartly decorated, some sloping eaves. Small shower-room; separate loo; utility room (washing machine, tumble drier).  

A smart and relaxing base in this popular seaside town, 10 minutes from the lovely beach.

    "A lovely well equipped house in a great location. We loved the garden and big kitchen was great for large family dinners. Parking on the street outside was no problem and the beach is only a 10/15 min walk away. We would book again and would definitely recommend"

    "This is a really lovely place which feels like 'home' rather than your average 'holiday rental'. It is a beautiful house, very spacious with a pretty and secluded garden. Everything you could wish for has been provided and the owners even went to the trouble of fitting a child safety stair gate as well as providing a new high chair and cot for the toddler. Location is fantastic, very convenient for the beach. I would not hesitate to recommend this property to others."

    "I stayed at this property with my two teenage sons during early April 2016. This is a characterful three-storey townhouse, beautifully decorated by the owners, and restoring the building to its 19th century glory. The house is very spacious, with high ceilings and generously-sized bedrooms across the upper two floors. The central heating has been modernised, but there is also a wood fire in the main living room should it be needed. There is a garden (also used for access by tenants in the basement flat, although we were unaware of their presence throughout our stay). The owners have considered everything in this holiday property, from a range of games, books and DVDs, to a complete set of kitchen equipment if you want to eat in, to considered restaurant reviews if you want to eat out. There are artful reminders of the ocean and beach throughout. On the beach-side of town, the house is just a few minutes’ drive or 10 minutes’ walk from the beach. Exmouth is a great location for reaching the surrounding area, which has much to offer, rain or shine. Car parking is best on the road out front where there were always spaces available throughout our stay. The house was spotlessly clean on arrival - it's also big house to clean on departure, so best advice is to optimise use of the four bath / shower / toilet rooms available during your stay! The property was overly spacious for the three of us - the house would easily accommodate eight. A family of six (four adults, two children) would be very comfortable. We greatly enjoyed our stay at 31 Salterton Road."
