Set on a working farm in stunning countryside only a short drive from the magnificent Jurassic coast of East Devon and West Dorset. Beautifully converted from an old apple store, the cottage is located in an impressive Victorian courtyard, and has been lovingly refurbished to provide stylish holiday accommodation in a truly idyllic rural setting. Built as an 'upside down' cottage, to take advantage of the beautiful rural views, The Apple Loft has a king size bedroom and separate bathroom on the ground floor, with an open-plan living area on the first floor. The character of the original building has been preserved with a vaulted ceiling, giving a spacious feel. The living area includes a modern fitted kitchen with dining area and a lounge area with a cosy wood burner. The inclusion of a comfortable sofa-bed allows the cottage to be used to accommodate a small family or two single people holidaying together as well as couples. A table and chairs in the courtyard at the front of the cottage provides somewhere to sit outside and relax. For those seeking a quiet spot in which to sit and read or enjoy some alfresco dining, there is a private patio area at the rear of the cottage. In addition there is access to a tennis court and a games barn (including table tennis and a full size snooker table) that is shared with the two other holiday properties on the farm site.

Location

The Apple Loft is one of three holiday properties recently refurbished by the owners of this working dairy farm just a few miles from the village of Colyton close to the Devon/Dorset border and only about 20 minutes drive from Lyme Regis. The farm is surrounded by lush countryside and overlooks a peaceful rural valley. For those wanting to experience a working farm at first hand the owners are happy to arrange a visit to the milking parlour. The surrounding countryside is perfect for walking and the beautiful coast, famous for its fossil beaches is just 4 miles away. Layout

Attached cottage on two floors. Ground floor: Entrance hall. Utility space with washer/dryer. Bedroom 1: with king size double bed. Bathroom with bath, shower over the bath and w.c . First floor: Open-plan living area including lounge with sofa-bed (please request when booking if required), TV/DVD and wood burner, dining area, fitted kitchen with electric oven & hob, fridge with icebox, microwave and dishwasher. Outside: Small table and chairs in communal courtyard. Private patio area with furniture at the rear.

Facilities and services

Under floor central heating and first basket of logs for wood burner included. Additional logs available at cost from the owner. Bed linen and towels included. Please bring own beach towels. Use of sofa-bed in lounge available for additional guest - please request at time of booking if required. Use of games barn with full size snooker table, table tennis and skittle alley. Use of tarmac tennis court. Travel cot and highchair available on request at time of booking. Wi-fi broadband access included.

Allocated off-road parking for one or two cars. Shops and pubs in Colyton 3 miles. Beaches: Branscombe and Beer 5 miles, Lyme Regis 10 miles. One well behaved dog welcome. Please note that as this is a working farm dogs must be kept under control at all times. No smoking. Arrival 3.00pm - departure 10.00am. Arrival day for weekly bookings Saturday.
