Firtree Cottage is a well-appointed and comfortable holiday home in a peaceful village location, offering a cosy atmosphere and a good base for exploring local attractions. Guests have praised the cleanliness, comfortable beds, and well-equipped kitchen, with some enjoying the thoughtful touch of a welcome cake and milk. While there have been minor issues with facilities and maintenance, the overall experience has been very positive, with many guests planning return visits.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Most guests found the cottage to be clean and well-maintained, with several reviews highlighting its spotless condition. However, a few guests raised concerns about specific cleanliness issues, particularly in the bathrooms, which slightly impacts the overall high standard perceived.

The cottage is consistently praised for its excellent location in a quiet village, convenient for local amenities and attractions. The proximity to a nice village pub and the ease of access to tourist sites contribute to its high rating.

Guests have expressed satisfaction with the comfortable furnishings, cosy bedrooms, and the overall homely feel of the cottage. Some concerns were raised about the adequacy of communal spaces for larger groups, but these were relatively few.

The property is generally well-equipped, with a particularly well-received kitchen. However, there have been several mentions of minor maintenance issues, such as problems with the shower and heating, and suggestions for additional facilities like serving dishes and a garden gate.

While some guests were delighted by the thoughtful gestures of a welcome cake and milk, these instances were not consistently mentioned across the reviews. As such, it is not possible to accurately assess this category, and guests should note that such gifts are a bonus rather than a guarantee.

The house was very clean and comfortable and close to the amenities we needed (pub, supermarket). There was an issue with the WiFi not working which was resolved really quickly by the owner. We loved the wood burning stove and had a couple of very cosy nights writing by the fire. Thank you for a fabulous stay.

Comfortable and home from home. Everything was top quality. Village surrounding is so pretty. We didn't have time to use the pub, but it looked very nice. Not too far from Ashby de la zouch & all local amenities. We hope to return!

There’s was also some great walks 5 min drive away and walked to the local pub a couple of times, the food was amazing. The kitchen and lounge weren’t the cleanest on arrival but once we had done this we enjoyed our stay. The house had a nice feel and the beds were really comfortable.
