    About this property

An elegant Grade II listed property with plenty of original features and a woodburning stove. The perfect rural retreat yet only one mile from a shop and pub.
Formerly part of the Foremark Hall Estate and on the edge of the National Forest, these three Grade II listed properties date from 1752. They enjoy a peaceful rural holiday location with excellent local walks and great views of the Grade I listed Foremark Hall, a Georgian-Palladian country house. Foremark Threshing Barn is a beautifully converted spacious barn with a full height atrium style dining area displaying the original roof timbers and galleried landing. From here, full width French windows lead to a large garden which features a paved patio area with garden furniture and a barbecue. Repton Cottage is named after the nearby village of Repton, the historic capital of Mercia. Burdett’s Cottage is named after the Burdett family whose ancestral home was Foremark Hall next door. Featuring cosy living rooms with wood burning stoves and exposed timbers, the traditional brick cottages of Repton and Burdett’s make perfect rural holiday retreats. Shop and pub 1 mile.

"Beautiful grade 2 listed cottage extremely well maintained, lovely friendly owners. Plenty of good walks, close proximity to cake abbey(well worth a visit. We had little or no phone signal or wifi nothing to do with the owners more to do with our mobile phone service providers, never the less a frustration for an internet Ahocolic like me. The weathers fantastic the gods smiled on us for the whole week. Also there were some good pubs/restaurants as host drive away.Particularly recommend the sir John Thomson for home made meals, carvery every day and puds to die for. all things considered a great week would love to visit again.Forgot to mention pet friendly so able to take our dog on her holidays."

"Lovely cottage and great location. Only issue was the masonry bee infestation however this did not spoil a great weekend and the owners were very apologetic"

"Nice cottage located close to the picturesque village and Public School Repton in stunning open countryside. Some missing items and problems with the WiFi were quickly resolved by the owners."

"The Cottage is a very pretty cosy little cottage. It has a modern well equipped kitchen and a lovely shower room . The log burner made the evenings spent there really relaxing ."

"the cottage was very clean and well equipped"

"The cottage itself was lovely, the bed was comfortable, very quiet location, nice welcome pack. Well equipped. The only criticism was that it was cold. We were there the coldest nights of the year so far and the central heating that was only in the living area and bedroom was on for a few of hours in the morning and in the evening. You were not able to put the heating on yourself so very cold in the day."

"Repton cottage was lovely, we had a brilliant holiday here. Only three negatives, the games room only has a pool table, but as it was in a massive barn, my boys still loved it, like an inside garden! The road up to the cottage is very tricky, lots of potholes and mucky and we could have done with a large saucepan to cook one pot meals for the 4 of us. However, everything else was great, clean, well stocked kitchen, logs available for the fire, 3 heaters and the décor cosy but modern. Lots to do in the area and lovely walks."
