Outside there’s a garden bench, perfect for a morning cup of coffee, along with parking for one car in front of the cottage. Close by, running down to the River Lune and Devil’s Bridge is a pretty park, just the place for a picnic on a summer’s day. Why not pop over to Ingleton and explore the White Scar Caves, or the pretty village of Hawes in the gorgeous Yorkshire Dales? Alternatively the Lake District is less than a 50-minute drive away where you can admire the breathtaking beauty of the mesmerising Lake Windermere and enjoy afternoon tea in one of the many tea rooms in Bowness-on-Windermere. The attractive market town of Kirkby Lonsdale is situated in the heart of the Lune Valley, midway between the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District. The town has a market day on a Thursday and a number of 17th and 18th century buildings. The medieval Devil’s Bridge spans the river, and the quiet country lanes are ideal for exploring by car, bike, or even horse.
