This cottage is ideal for friends and family wishing to enjoy time together to explore this captivating area. On entering this well-presented cottage, the spacious downstairs has a beautiful period fireplace and woodburner, a lovely comfortable seating area and a generous dining area with a well-equipped kitchen. Upstairs are three stylish bedrooms with a splash of colour, fitting in well with the character of the cottage. From the back step, there is a superb spacious elevated courtyard with simply delightful views over the village roof tops to the church and fells beyond. The bustling village of Kirkby Lonsdale is full of quality independent shops, cafés, restaurants and pubs serving local ales and mouth-watering food leaving you spoilt for choice. There is a traditional sweet shop in the village, where you can spark your childhood memories, as well as some interesting antique shops. This village has the wonderful historic Devil’s Bridge used for bathing in the summer as well as being a favourite for photos. This then leads to a delightful riverside walk taking you to the church dating back to Norman times with the famous view said by John Ruskin to be “One of the loveliest views in England”. Just seven miles away is the village of Ingleton with the circular Ingleton Waterfalls Trail or the White Scar Caves to explore. A short distance away is Farleton Knott with some of the area’s best-preserved limestone pavements in Britain. Further afield the mesmerizing Lake District beckons and a short drive away you can also dip down to the coast for some beautiful walks. The villages of Silverdale and Arnside are there to visit as well as Leighton Moss RSPB. This is an inspired holiday choice to explore this picturesque area with some fantastic views all year round.

Kirkby Lonsdale is situated in the heart of the Lune Valley, between the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District. It's so handy for walking into town as well as accessing the rest of the South Lakes. Love the new extension! Really opens up the space at the back of the house.

The cottage itself was really cosy and comfortable, with everything provided that you could possibly need. The welcome pack was much appreciated as was the dog bed, bowls, blankets and towels which were a nice touch (along with some dog treats too!). The owner Heather was lovely and offered to help with any questions we had, or supply info about the area. We attended the Christmas Carol Service at the local church and were made to feel very welcome. Overall, a fabulous short break in a lovely village, made even better by the great accommodation.

The terrace was gorgeous, especially as we were so lucky to have perfect weather. The terrace is bigger than it appears from the photo on the website and although it adjoins other properties it is very private. The location was exactly what I wanted, in the town and close to many great places to eat and drink. There was some traffic noise in the front bedrooms when the windows were open, which is inevitable in a town. We had 2 cars but parking wasn’t a problem, I used the permit to park further up the Mitchelgate and the other car was in the pay and display car park around the corner.
