This cottage is ideal for family or friends wishing to spend time together to enjoy this delightful area. This beautifully presented cottage with period features such as beams, wooden floors, stable doors and a woodburning stove also has modern amenities and ample leather seating in the spacious sitting and dining area. Upstairs you can enjoy countryside views from the bedrooms and sink into comfortable beds that also have a touch of glamour with the bed furnishing. After your day’s activities return to this welcoming cottage and enjoy your favourite drink on the decking in the garden overlooking the fields and woodland and watch the sunset or hunker down in front of the woodburner. With walking and cycling from your door, enjoy Farleton Knott where you can explore the dramatic limestone pavements and take in far reaching views to the lakes and Morecambe Bay estuary as well as Warton Crag and Arnside Knott closer to hand. There are beautiful coastal walks in Arnside and Silverdale, an area of outstanding natural beauty, which is a short drive away and in Silverdale there is the RSPB reserve Leighton Moss. In the opposite direction you can visit Kirby Lonsdale, a delightful historic market town with quality pubs, eateries, artisan bakeries, a chocolatier and a traditional sweet shop with all those childhood favourites in the ancient market square. Devils Bridge runs over the river and you can walk alongside the river bank and take in the charming village and scenery until you reach the ancient church at the far end of the village. At Carnforth you can relax and enjoy a leisurely pace by taking a canal to Lancaster in summer months or a train to the villages above or how about a trip up the west coast. Kendal is a 20 minute drive away with both Levens Hall and its wonderful gardens and Sizergh Castle close by. Windermere and Ambleside are also a little further afield to explore the Lake District National Park. This is a fantastic property in an ideal location with so many things to see and do you’ll have to book a return trip!

A small, traditional Cumbrian village set in beautiful countryside and ideally placed for exploring Southern Lakeland, the Yorkshire Dales and the peaceful Forest of Bowland. The village has a Post Office/general store, a butcher and a pub that serves good food. It lies 7 miles from the lovely old market town of Kirkby Lonsdale, and 12 miles from Kendal, the gateway to the Lake District. We had a wonderful family time, thank you. All facilities required, just wish we could have stayed longer. Fantastic walk to the nature reserve which we did twice daily! Thank you for the recommendation. We hope to be returning next year, thanks again.

The cottage was very clean and comfortable and the log fire was a real treat to sit and relax with on a chilly evening. There was everything you needed and more. The garden was lovely and chilled and lovely to sit out in on a sunny evening. We also were very fortunate to spot 2 deer out the back of the cottage in the evening. The country side around the cottage is stunning
