We arrived at the cottage and the key was left in the door for us. Beautiful cottage, very spacious and perfect for our family week away. There was 6 adults, 1 child and a dog and we had lots of room. The snug was an added bonus and perfect to chill although the dog loved this part of the house best!! Great location to access local tourist attractions. The cottage does back on to a bust a road but we found we got use to the noise quite quickly. Disappointed that garden was muddy and full of dog poo but due to time of year we didn't need to use this. Although this cottage is dog friendly you do need to get out in the car for a dog walk. Some of the crockery could do with being replaced and the cottage is crying out for a coat stand or rack. This is our only complaint. We didn't see the owner at all so left alone. Fantastic break over new year with the family.

Essentially the house is nicely laid out, and I would presume a holiday rental from new. Therefore, it lacks all the homely touches that gives the feel of comfort that I would generally expect to feel from a holiday cottage as opposed to a chain hotel. The house still clad in its original decorated skin, which is needing touched up a bit, and being the end of the season it contained some chipped glasses and crockery (not something that is good when you have a five and seven year olds in tow). A point in mind; if you have younger children the house has clear fully glazed internal doors - it will only be a matter of time before one of them smacks full face into one. Our main problem was that the central heating did not function and the landlord, who apparently lives next door (I believe so, as we never saw him), was more interested in preserving his booked table than coming round to look at and fire up the boiler. Also simple things to clean properly or fix, like splashes on the paint at the side of the dishwasher and dog chewed door frame, were unattended to. At some point in the future I will attach photos to support the above.
