"The cottage was clean and comfortable. It was well equipped with everything you might need and more. The location was central for exploring all areas of the lakes."
    Mrs Bowyer ‐ 1 Sep 2018
"Cosy and comfortable. Such a good position to explore the lakes or Morecambe Bay Area. Bonus was that we could bring our little dog."
    Ms Evenden ‐ 1 Aug 2018
"Cottage was fabulous. The only downside for where we were was the lack of outside areas for dogs to have a run. The two green areas were no dogs allowed and pavements were narrow or you were walking on the road."
    Mrs Butler ‐ 1 Jul 2018
"We had a great time, beautiful views, extremely clean and well equipped, if I had to say something I would point out that it had no grass, or dogs wouldn't wee haha we had to walk to a field but really not a hardship Perfect break many thanks"

"The cottage has been beautifully refurbished and is well equipped and very clean. Wonderful views and a great location. We had a very comfortable and restful week away. Thank you!"

"We all enjoyed our stay at 2 West View although the weather was mixed. Facilities within the cottage were as advertised. There was a slight issue with cleanliness with a used razor that was left in the soap tray of the shower in the en-suite but that apart everything was satisfactory. It was a delight to look out from the breakfast table onto the hills with sheep grazing and all manner of birds flying by. We were unfortunately unable to connect to the wifi even though we worked to the instructions that were left for us. The cottage was ideally placed for touring and we certainly made the most of it. Our 2 grandchildren aged 4 and 9 really enjoyed the local park which was only a short walk from the cottage. We were also impressed by the friendliness of the local people particularly at the Pheasant Inn where we had a very good Sunday Lunch top off by a generous portion of sticky toffee pudding and custard. Carmel is a delightful village and viewing the historic Abbey is a must see. Grange over Sands has a lovely park and a stroll along the promenade looking out over Morecombe Bay was breath-taking. Yes, we would definitely return but maybe next time it would be in late spring or early summer."
    Mrs Mitchell ‐ 1 Feb 2018
"We all enjoyed our stay in this very well appointed property. We loved watching the wildlife from the kitchen window. The photos don't show how spacious the accommodation is, we would love to return."
    Mrs Forster ‐ 1 Nov 2017
"The cottage was absolutely perfect! We could have stayed much longer than a week. It is well equipped and has everything and more you can think of. The cottage is very spacious and has a lovely flow. We wouldn’t hesitate to return."

"We had a great time in this very well equipped and comfortable cottage. We were 5 people and 2 dogs, all had plenty of room. We loved the views from the back and the cosy fire in the front room. Cartmel has some nice restaurants, pubs and cafés including the Pig and Whistle where we had a very nice meal. Cartmel sticky toffee pudding is highly recommended, we even bought some to take back with us. Flounders fish and chip shop in Flookburgh is also recommended. We visited Muncaster and Sizergh Castle which were both very interesting. Muncaster also allows dogs around the gardens and grounds providing they are on a lead. Don't forget Sizergh farm shop on your way out! Thank you for a great stay, looking forward to our next holiday in the Lakes."

"Just returned from a weeks stay at this excellent house. We were 2 adults and 3 children and there was plenty of room for us all. Very comfy and clean. Only thing I would suggest is a flask and plastic crockery would be a great addition for taking out on picnics Im writing this review as I forgot to sign the guest book."

"Allithwaite is handy for Cartmel, Ulverston, Kendal, Barrow and Lancaster. There are fell walks, Lakes, bay walks and rides all within easy reach. The cottage is clean, up to date, well maintained and easy to live in and use. I liked using the train at Kents Bank and Cark for journeys round to Lancaster, Morecambe, Ulverston and Barrow. Today I took the train to Ulversyton and walked up Hoad Hill to the Barrow monument. It looks like a lighthouse. Panoramic views over the hills, bay and town. Fat Flour bakery down the hill in Cark, 8 am to 1pm, and Friday and Saturday evenings for pizzas, is good for interesting bread. I especially enjoyed the honey and walnut loaf this time."
    Mrs Boyd
"This cottage is set in a fantastic location with amazing views. It was very well equipt and extremely comfortable as well as being spotlessly clean. My 2 kids loved sleeping in the attic bedroom. Lots to do in the area come rain or shine. Lovely play park just over the road and the Pheasant pub just down the road serves amazing food with very friendly staff."

"Exceedingly nice cottage style terrace only 2 miles from Cartmel, very well equipped with everything you could need. Can't fault the place, will return with friends in the future."
    Mrs Naomi Cook, Devizes, Wiltshire
"Beautiful cottage felt like home from home. Very well equipped, and super clean. The views from the back of the cottage are superb. Good location for surrounding attractions. Would definitely revisit. "
Ms Wen Sun, Sheffield, South Yorkshire
"We found the cottage to be lovely and homely. There was a beautiful view and it was situated in a great location. The property was also child friendly with a travel cot, high chair and DVDs available. We would definitely recommend 2 West View to anyone who would like to have a quiet and relaxing countryside holiday. "

"A lovely house, well-equipped and beautifully presented. The bedrooms are lovely and the twin-bedded loft conversion particularly charming. Havins a separate lounge was a bonus and the beautifully extended kitchen/diner with its views over the countryside is a delightful living space, Parking outside was never a problem, though Allithwaite's lack of footpaths and plenty of throug traffic makes exploring on foot a little alarming. No real shop so need to go to Grange for provisions, But a great base to explore the southern lake lands and the Cartmel and Furness peninsulas, Pheasant Innn deserves its reputation for good food,"

"10 out of 10! A fantastic holiday cottage in a beautiful location. It was within walking distance of Grange over sands and Cartmel and had good local shops, cafes, pubs, restaurants, etc. Easy access to the Lake District and Yorkshire dales."

"Stayed here with our family; a 7 and 5 year old and a dog. The children loved the attic room, and we loved the kitchen (which had everything we needed) with the gorgeous views across the fields over breakfast, and the utility room was fab for use after walks, drying and storing shoes etc. We found Allithwaite not great for dog walks, as very few public open spaces to let the dog off the lead, found a nice park along the railway line on the way into Grange however. The beds were comfortable, linen very clean and fresh, bathrooms nicely laid out. We always drove into the Lakes to get a decent walk, Orrest Head in Windermere perfect for the children, and Muncaster castle great for taking the dog and entertaining the children. We had such a bad week weather wise, storm weather warnings, hail, snow and rain, but we don't feel like we missed out in any way as we found plenty to do in the Lakes and nearby to have a great time. Our only personal downside was that we left ALL the children's Easter eggs hidden on top of a wardrobe on Easter Saturday before actually giving them to them! Ooooops! Will triple check before leaving a rental next time!"

"Stayed for a week with family and pet dog, I was very impressed with this home from home. It had everything you could need with the owner taking a lot of trouble with attention to detail. Amazing kitchen with fantastic view, comfy beds and lovely master bedroom with en-suite and log burner in the lounge. Having wifi was the icing on the cake, I could happily move in! Will definitely use this property again when visiting the area."
    Mrs C Kerr, Aldershot, Hampshire
"The cottage was fantastic. The village was quiet and peaceful, the views were stunning and everything was near to hand so didn't have to drive too far to find something to do. Would definitely recommend this for families and couples of all ages, can't wait to go back."
    Ms Jennifer Mccay, Manchester,
"Really good for a car free holiday, within cycling distance of the train station, secure bike storage. Really well equipped cottage, nothing lacking. Very well presented too, the photos on the website don't do it justice. "
    Mrs Gwen Eckersley, Southport, Merseyside
"The cottage was so close to beautiful areas and we did not have to go far. It felt like going home every evening and everywhere we went the people were friendly. We did not want to come home."

"Really good base to explore the lakes ! Fantastic kitchen diner with great views , really clean and had everything you need and more !"
    Ms Anne Gillespie, Glasgow, Lanarkshire
"We had a wonderful holiday in the Lake District. The cottage was comfortable, clean and well stocked with towels, cutlery and crockery. The kitchen was of a particularly high standard and the views from the dining room were truly spectacular. The owner contacted us before our visit and gave us a number of contact numbers and details which we could use if we had any problems. We had no reason to use these numbers but it was re-assuring to know that help was at hand if we needed it. I would have no hesitation in recommending this cottage."
    Mrs Maureen Joannou, Staines-upon-Thames, Surrey
"The houise is in a beautiful setting and the surrounding area is really nice."
    Mr Chris Kemp, Ellon, Aberdeenshire
"Just a lovely welcoming house and the views from the back were stunning"
    Miss Christine Muir, Liverpool, Merseyside
"The views from the property were lovely and it was an ideal location from which to explore the surrounding area."
    Mrs Nicola Franklin, Rayleigh, Essex
"The location was superb and the house was perfect. It was clean, welcoming and fully equipped. Would highly recommend to friends and family. Would definitely go back! Thanks."
Mrs Lorraine Wade, Livingston, West Lothian
"Great location for exploring the Southern Lakes. House has been finished to a very high standard. The kitchen is well equipped and has lovely views over the surrounding countryside through the large patio doors. Sitting area is comfortable and the wood burner was a treat. Beds are very comfortable providing a great nights sleep after a days exploring. "
Mr Jonathan Twist, Bolton, Greater Manchester
"The facilities are top class & the knowledge that yourselves and the owners are on hand if needed is very reassuring."

"This cottage is great. We stayed with our 3 children and there was everything we needed. The cottage itself is really clean and modern inside but in character with the age of the building. Both Cartmel and Grange are nearby and easy to get to. You will need a car."
    Ms Hilary Khawam, Orpington,
"A lovely cottage, full of light and lovely views from the kitchen table. "
    Mr Campbell, Stockport, Greater Manchester
"The cottage was recently renovated to a high standard, it had everything you could possibly need, whilst retaining the character of the property."
    Mrs Allard, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire
"The cottage was beautiful, well cared for and very comfy. We could not have asked for anything more."
