We have just returned from a lovely week's stay at Radnor. We thought the lodge was very well presented and had virtually everything we needed for our stay. We had some wet weather, in addition to doing some wet activities (ghyll canyoning!) and using the used tub daily, so a tumble dryer would have made our lives much easier! The beds were a little hard and having read the reviews, we took a spare duvet to soften ours a bit which helped. Didn't find the hard floors an issue at all, and they were spotlessly clean! Wifi was a little patchy but we were out and about a lot so this didn't impact on us that much.Location wise, we were able walk into Cartmel, which is indeed lovely, in about 20 minutes. Restaurants were busy so I would suggest booking ahead. We ate in the Cavendish Arms a few times, and the food there was delicious - so much so that we cancelled a booking we had made a Rogan & Co in preference for the Cavendish.Overall, we would definitely recommend Radnor.

The lodge was absolutely immaculate and spotlessly clean. In terms of furnishings, fixtures and fittings my expectations were exceeded and we had everything we needed (with one exception!). The lodge is in a beautiful, peaceful location about 20 minutes walk from Cartmel which is stunning. The hot tub was attended to every day which was great but somehow on the second day it was a bit cold and the water was overflowing. This was rectified by the next day. My only real criticism is that the wifi was completely non-existent (and there is no mobile reception in the lodge). This would not be a problem for some but the lodge should definitely not be advertised as having wifi. The box is there but it only ever worked for about 2 minutes at a time at a snail's pace for one of us and then dropped out again. My partner runs his own business and needs to be able to keep an eye on emails and so if we'd known the wifi was non-existent we may not have booked - this should be made clear. Otherwise - really lovely.

We arrived half an hour early, the lodge wasn’t ready, there were no toilets on site or anywhere to wait. The first few days was quite peaceful, but on the Friday two young couples moved in next door, the spent the weekend in the hot tub, some mornings till 4am, lots of alcohol, and very noisy. They went on the Monday to our relief, and two more couples arrived, with a dog. ( I love dogs) but when I was sat out on the sun the dog came into our area on more than one occasion, it was embarrassing for me that he was followed by his owner, who did apologise. ( sat in my cozy) We went to walk to Cartmel one evening and was set upon by another dog, I would hate to think what might of happened if I’d have been a child. This was the site owners dog.She called it in, but never came to apologise.Cartmel itself is a lovely place for a few days. But all the pubs stopped serving food at 4 pm on a Sunday Monday Tuesday Wednesday!
