Snaptrip says

Snowdrop Cottage in Ulverston offers a tranquil setting with picturesque views, often praised for its modern amenities and the delightful hot tub. Guests appreciate the property's cleanliness and the efficient resolution of issues by maintenance staff. The cottage's location is ideal for exploring the Lake District, with some guests noting the convenience of nearby attractions.

Guests that stayed at this property said

The cottage generally appears clean, but there are instances of hairs found in beds and food remnants on dishes. These issues seem to be exceptions rather than the rule, with many guests satisfied with the cleanliness.

The location is highly regarded for its quiet, peaceful setting with lovely scenery and proximity to local attractions. Some guests were surprised by the proximity to a busy road, but this did not significantly detract from the overall positive feedback about the location.

Comfort is generally well-received, with a particularly comfortable bed and cosy atmosphere mentioned. However, some guests experienced issues with heating control and noise from other occupants, which affected their comfort levels.

Facilities like the hot tub and kitchen are appreciated, but there are several reports of maintenance issues such as non-working jets, difficulty with the washing machine/dryer, and lack of clear instructions. Timely responses to problems are noted, but the recurrence of these issues impacts the score.

While the reviews reflect a welcoming atmosphere and some guests mention efficient problem-solving, there is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate a level of thoughtfulness from the hosts. Therefore, this score cannot be provided.

About this property

This superb ground-floor apartment rests within a charming property which houses four holiday homes. Snowdrop Cottage exists all on one level, and provides delightful accommodation for a couple looking for a rural retreat in Cumbria. Commanding spectacular views across the coast from the open-plan living area, wind down in here after an exciting day. Indulge in a hot shower within the stunning en-suite wet room, before settling down in the king-size bed. Patio doors lead to your own private terrace complete with a hot tub, so you can relax in the bubbles beneath the stars. Snowdrop Cottage offers a country escape for a couple at any time of year. Note: This cottage can be booked with Refs.916664, 926823 and 926824, together they sleep 12.

Situated on the coast, across from Morecambe Bay is the small village of Aldingham. Local folklore says that the village was once a mile long and that many of the cottages were washed away. Aldingham also has a reputation as a smuggler's village, the perpetrators hiding brandy from France and tobacco from America within the church crypt. The village itself is close to Furness Abbey as well as the ancient market town of Ulverston, just five miles away. Ulverston boasts a street market every Thursday and Saturday, in addition to many festivals throughout the year. These include an amazing lantern procession in November and an atmospheric Dickensian weekend in early December. The town is also the birthplace of Stan Laurel, famous for his work with Oliver Hardy, and as such is home to the only museum dedicated to this double act in the world. With all the attractions of the Lake District National Park and the sandy beaches of the Furness Coast, this quiet and peaceful area has plenty to offer!

Unfortunately the hot tub was cold for our entire stay and we didn’t have hot water on the night of arrival. Some came to look at this for us whilst we were out the following day, we manage to get one hot shower before the water went Luke warm again. Would recommend if the hot tub and hot water troubles would guaranteed to be fixed. Lovely views from the cottage too

Absolutely beautiful cottage, gorgeous location, very relaxing. Loved how close this cottage was to the beach. Hot tub was fab and stayed heated for a long term. Fab facilities, had everything we needed in the kitchen to cook meals and was just a very comfortable stay, felt like a home away from home. Super clean and just an all round perfect stay. We already cannot wait to return. The only thing I could fault was there was only 1 toilet roll left for our stay and 1 bin bag, could have done with a few more of these as we had to go out and buy some but not a big deal at all !! Thank you for a perfect stay
