Clarence Cottage is located on Bongate, Appleby and is next door to the Royal Oak Hotel so is ideally situated for \'eating out\'. The property on the other side belongs to the hotel.Initial access to the cottage is via a key lock (code number provided) which is next to the entrance door to the porch. This leads into the living area comprising of an open fire place, television and two seater settee. This room leads of into the kitchen area that is equipped with modern day units, microwave and electric hob cooker, small freezer and fridge. There is a back door that leads to the coal bunker and gardens. From the kitchen is the staircase (steep) that leads to a big bathroom complete with seperate bath and also seperate shower cubicle. Also at the top of the stairs is the entrance to the very large bedroom comprising a king size bed, wardrobe and drawers. The bedroom overlooks Bongate. There is an information pack in the kitchen should you need to contact the owner. The cottage was very clean and comfortable and the \'town centre\' is within reasonable walking distance. The town is also situated on the Settle to Carlisle railway line, the station has a paid car park.We would come back again but would bring a few more cooking utensils and our own frying pan!

Lovely, compact cottage. Next to a great British pub.Felt like home from home as soon as we opened the door. The open fire was a delight - matches, firelighters and coal all provided.Super large, clean bathroom - piping hot water, fantastic to soak in after a good day\'s walking in the wonderful Pennines.Couldn\'t recommend it more, we certainly intend to return.
