    The Cottage at 1710 (ref UKC3887) is semi-detached to 1710 (ref UKC2500) set around an open garden to the front. The location is perfect and both cottages are delightful, the ideal location for that ’get away from it all’ break. The Cottage at 1710 complements 1710 perfectly. Set in a peaceful hamlet, The Cottage at 1710 has been completely refurbished and modernised in 2018 and retains much of its character. While staying at the cottage see if you can find the window in the window! Picture postcard perfect 1710 is a character cottage in every sense of the word and has been renovated to provide comfortable, cosy accommodation. The properties will also be decorated should you be arriving during the festive period.
    Greenwell is an idyllic and sleepy little hamlet yet only a few minutes’ drive from Brampton with its many good restaurants and pubs. From your doorstep, take a walk to the delightful small villages of Castle Carrock and Talkin and enjoy a well-earned meal or drink in the local pubs.
    Explore Talkin Tarn Country Park, an 180 acre park close by offering a wide range of activities for all the family including walking, fishing, rowing or bird watching. For those keen on discovering our heritage, then Hadrian’s Wall is a must. The cottages are also centrally located to visit Carlisle, the Lake District, Northumberland and the Scottish Borders. Perfect. Shop 4 miles, pub and restaurant 2 miles.

    "Perfect getaway from it all. Beautifully and sympathetically decorated. Supplied with lovely crockery, tea-towels, kitchen equipment; all you could ask for. Comfortable bed with a selection of pillows at different firmness, complete bliss. I'm not sure what welcome pack you will get but I know it will be great! The owner is just what you need, interested and friendly but not at all intrusive. The cottage located to the left of 1710 Cottage is owned by Moyra; if you're lucky, you'll get to meet her and find out about the history of the place - and boys in shorts!"

    "A tucked away location makes it so peaceful. There was absolutely everything we needed within the cottage.Lots of local places to visit or you can just unwind at the cottage in the peace and tranquillity. Lovely welcome pack from Julie."

    "The cottage was perfect for our holiday, quiet and in a picture perfect location. It would be 10 across the board, but the reason for the 9's is only on location and amenities as the cottage is located away from everyone, but a 15 minute walk to a lovely pub/restaurant and there are no shops etc nearby, but that is what we wanted. The cottage is just right, clean and well presented with everything needed. 2 miles and your on the main routes, but you would not know it. I would be happy to stay again, just for the calm quiet location."

    "Julie was a very welcoming and generous host. The house was lovely, and spotlessly clean. Everything we needed was provided, although the house is completely uncluttered. Very comfortable bed. Nice walk nearby at Gelt Woods, and we walked to the Duke of Cumberland for a pint. It didn't bother us, but the stairs are steep."

    "We have just returned from 1710 where we had a fantastic 4 night stay. Could not fault it in the slightest! Modern interior, yet lots of traditional aspects! Loved the fire, the open space outside, lots of extra amenities provided e.g soap, tea bags, eggs, milk, butter, cheese, wine and chocs. Can't wait to return!!!!"
