Snaptrip says

The Stable in Brampton is a cosy and comfortable cottage, appreciated for its tranquillity and as a base for exploring the surrounding areas. Guests have praised the property's cleanliness, the warm welcome from the hosts, and the convenience of its location. While some minor issues with facilities like the hot tub were noted, the overall experience has been positive, with many guests expressing a desire to return.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Guests consistently describe the cottage as clean and well-maintained, with only a few isolated comments suggesting room for improvement. The majority of feedback highlights the property's cleanliness as a strong point.

The location is frequently praised for its quiet setting and proximity to local attractions, making it an ideal base for exploring. Some guests mentioned the need to drive to shops, but this does not detract significantly from the overall positive reception of the location.

Comfort is a recurring theme in the reviews, with guests finding the beds comfortable and the living areas cosy. There are a few remarks about the size of the property and the bed, but these are not prevalent enough to overshadow the general satisfaction with the comfort provided.

While many guests are satisfied with the facilities, including the log fire and conservatory, there are several complaints about the hot tub, which is a significant aspect of the property's appeal. The need for maintenance and repair of the hot tub and some other amenities has been noted.

There is insufficient information in the reviews to assess the level of thoughtfulness in terms of gifts or special touches provided by the hosts. Therefore, a score cannot be given for this category.

About this property

A lovely, stone-built, mid-terrace cottage on a working livestock farm in the rural hamlet of Milton, two miles from Brampton. The result of careful, thoughtful conversion of old farm buildings, this Milton cottage retains much charm, with original beams and exposed stonework. This welcoming Milton cottage features a cosy sitting room with attached summer room, a lovely spot to sit and admire the pretty views, a small modern kitchen, and a delightful main bedroom. An ideal romantic retreat, this Milton cottage is further enhanced by the decked balcony, where guests can enjoy views of the countryside, or watch the world go by. A great base to relax, unwind and enjoy this historic area, the market town of Brampton, the North Pennines and majestic Hadrian's Wall. Note: This cottage is next to Refs. 3738, 4585, 917515, 922499, 931769 and 941220, 949797 together they sleep 30.

Ideally placed for exploring northern Cumbria, the little hamlet of Milton is set close to numerous attractions including Hadrians Wall, the Solway Firth and the Lake District National Park. With a rich and colourful history, the market town of Brampton dates back to the Roman occupation, and boasts evidence of Scottish border raids and the Jacobite uprising. Apparently, even Bonnie Prince Charlie was a fan of the town, establishing his headquarters in what is now a shop. Just a few miles away is the Talkin Tarn Country Park. Covering 180 acres, the Tarn - a 10,000 year old glacial lake - accounts for 65 acres and is fed by underwater springs. Slightly further south, visitors can take a trip to Gelt Woods - an ancient woodland set along the banks of the River Gelt.

Cosy cottage, furnished to a high standard, very comfortable, lovely welcoming owner and ideally placed to explore fascinating places including Hadrians Wall. 5* all the way, very highly recommended (as has always been our experience over the years we have been booking through Sykes)!

Cottage was cosy and clean with everything you would need. Owner was lovely and helpful. Would return again anytime.

Rural location and only a 15 min walk to Brampton station where there was a good rail service (including evenings) to and fro Carlisle . Only moan was the water pressure was low and not really practical to fill the bath but the shower was spot on so it didn't matter. I'd certainly return for another stay.
