The market town of Brampton is home to Hadrian’s Wall. The town holds a rich history going back to the Roman occupation. In the centre of the town is Moot Hall, which now houses the Tourist Information Centre. There is a large motte to the east of the town. A few miles outside Brampton is Talkin Tarn Country Park and two miles away is Gelt Woods; an ancient woodland with the River Gelt flowing through.
