Cumwhitton is a Cumbrian village dating back to the Celtics and has one of the largest Viking burial grounds in England which has only recently been discovered.

Being only 8 miles east of Carlisle and within a 20 minute drive of Brampton, Hadrian’s Wall and Lanercost Priory the village is perfectly placed to explore the delights of a bygone era.

Red stone built houses surround the village green with a brook running through, the renowned Pheasant Inn, dates back to the 17th Century and has retained its character and ambience serving excellent bar meals.

Leisurely walks and picnics can be enjoyed from the front door on the nearly River Eden and the Eden Valley, northern Lake District, Caldbeck Fells, Scottish Borders, Cumbrian Coast and Newcastle are all easily accessible.

The cottage has oil central heating and comprises:
Lounge with sandstone open fire and original red sandstone flagged floor, flat screen TV, DVD player, huge sumptuous corner sofa and large selection of books and games.
Fully panelled kitchen combines old with new with modern electric oven and hob, fridge, dishwasher and microwave.
The dining room has a slate floor and fabulous working Victorian cast iron cooking range with patio doors leading to a private patio overlooking the church.
Utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer.
Cloakroom with hand basin and WC.
First floor:
Master double bedroom with hand made king size bed with bespoke units housing a shower over bath, hand basin and seperate WC.
