This detached cottage is beautifully presented with luxury features; nestled away on the very southern end of Walney Island. Perfect for couples or friends, there is much to embrace with this retreat offering nothing less than attention to detail through and through. The open plan sitting room is light and airy, home to ocean coloured sofas, and a lovely, contemporary dining table where you can enjoy those home cooked meals with lovely views over the dunes through the full glass bi-fold doors before relaxing in front of the TV. One sofa pulls out to a bed, comfy enough for the kids if you can’t get someone to look after them whilst you slope off to your seaside hideaway. The kitchen boasts white units, and colourful appliances that complement the layout well. Further round, a double bedroom is a relaxing and soothing place to sleep, accessorized with cushions and pretty lamps that rest by the window. A classic vanity unit ties the room together well. Behind this, a walk-in, rainfall shower is tucked into the formation for a lovely finish. The East facing door looks across to the start of Walney channel and some beautiful sunrises you can watch whilst frothing the milk for the Nespresso coffee maker. This door opens to the walled garden, which holds a decked area, a lawn and a patio/children's play area. German beach baskets give you comfy shelter from the cool sea breeze. The bi-fold doors on the west side open out to the dunes and stunning sunsets. A water feature creates the essence of calmness, and the summer house is a perfect change of scenery for an afternoon escape. That's not all; look up and the working lighthouse is right ahead of you. The hide is wired for sound with Sonos in the main room, the bedroom and in the summer house. You can walk around the paths of the reserve and you will be blown away by the views and the sheer wild beauty of the place. 40 metres and you are on the top of the sand banks by the side of the beach with the sea spray in your face. Search for Walney Lighthouse and you will see endless photographs of this much loved local landmark. If you can tear yourself away from the retreat, Walney Island holds two nature reserves, miles of sandy beaches and some great pubs for food and beer, including the local microbrewery. With both Barrow and Dalton-in-Furness nearby, along with the market town of Ulverston, this holiday adventure is not to be missed. Walney Island is an island situated off the coast of England and the largest island in England. Boasting two nature reserves, miles of sandy beaches and a selection of pubs and restaurants, this location has much to offer. Many attractions and sporting activities remain available. Both Barrow and Dalton-in-Furness are nearby and the market town of Ulverston is within easy reach.

Note: The access road to property has had major improvements, however it is still bumpy in places, but is suitable for normal cars.

Note: This property has a 4pm check in time.
The reserve is a Nature Reserve run by the Cumbria Wildlife Trust and it is a Site of Special Scientific Interest and guests must respect that.

No dogs are allowed at the property or anywhere on the reserve, even on a lead.

When you are walking around on the reserve, you must keep to the paths, and don't go down onto the beach.

Never go onto the long Spit of land at the very end of the island (past the fence).

In the Autumn and Winter, huge numbers of wader birds use the beaches to rest, and it's vital they are undisturbed to save energy and help them survive the winter.

In the Spring and Summer, coastal birds nest here and must not be disturbed or harmed.

Some of the nests are hard to see and easy to stand on so please keep to the paths.

The reserve is monitored by a Warden and it is embarrassing for them, for guests and for us for visitors to be told off for roaming around where they should not be.

This is a bird watcher’s paradise.

No fireworks should be let off at the property and no drones should be used.

We also have neighbours and we ask that guests respect their privacy.

This is a beautiful, family friendly holiday home, and whilst it has modern audio and video facilities for everyone to enjoy, it is not a place for a noisy party group weekend away.

Note: A £200 good house keeping bond is required for this property, this will authorize us to deduct up to £200 after your stay from the account provided if the booking conditions are broken.
