About this property

Workington 3.2 miles. This wonderful period property sits in the quaint Cumbrian hamlet of Winscales, being close to the coast and the bustling town of Workington and within easy reach of the magnificent Lake District National Park. Jane Croft boasts features such as exposed beams, inglenook fireplaces and low ceilings creating a property full of character and perfect for hosting a large family. Enter through the back door and come into the spacious utility room where a wide range of appliances sits, amongst boot racks and coat hooks for when you come in from a wet winter walk. Once you are all dry, head next door to the snug and put some kindling in the woodburning stove and take the weight off your feet on one of the classic armchairs. Enjoy a quiet evening before the open fire in the sitting room with a favourite film showing on the TV. For a special occasion, set the dining table in the dining room and gather under the exposed beams to indulge in a roast dinner, prepared within the delightful kitchen using the large range cooker. Completing the ground-floor is the conservatory where another dining table lives as well as plush seating, perfect for enjoying a board game on a rainy day as you are warmed by the underfloor heating in this room, all whilst overlooking the luscious garden. Go upstairs and decide who is sleeping where, with two king-size bedrooms, one of which has an en-suite shower room, a twin with an en-suite shower room, and a single with a trundle bed to choose from, you should find an arrangement to fit your party's needs. The bedrooms feature low windows overlooking the garden, as well as plenty of beautiful furniture to store your belongings, while pretty bedding brings the rooms together. A bathroom with a bath and hand-held shower attachment means you can bathe the little ones before bed, or enjoy some solitude with a relaxing soak. The large garden is best enjoyed in summer, sit out on the furniture and take in the morning with your first cup of tea of the day, and wake up with the rest of the world. When everyone is ready to head out, make your first trip into the town of Workington and visit the Workington Hall Parklands and Gardens, where a historic Grade I listed building can be explored set within mature woodland, and the children will love the miniature railway. When you've seen everything take a late lunch at one of the many restaurants within Workington. With the Lake District being next door and just around a half an hour drive to the market town of Keswick, you must visit this amazing place surrounded by mountains and begin with a walk around the Derwentwater Lake. Jane Croft is a unique and characterful property, providing you with a great base to explore Cumbria.
