Clematis Cottage is cosy and welcoming and ideal for a couple wanting to retreat or explore the beautiful surrounding countryside. Built of Cotswold stone, with beamed ceilings, original flag stone floors, wooden floors and a wealth of traditional features.

The cottage is perfectly situated towards the edge of Blockley, yet only a few minutes’ walk to the village shop and café, and the two village pubs. There are many countryside walks to enjoy straight from the front door. The accommodation is set over three floors, accessed by traditionally curved and quite steeps stairways; and the cottage has a delightful, enclosed garden with a small patio area and a sheltered cabin. There is parking on the road next to the cottage or in the large car park opposite.

Blockley, lying only a few miles from Moreton-in Marsh and Chipping Campden, is a charming Cotswold village with twisting roads and secret passages to clusters of houses that lie higgledy piggledy throughout the village, which was once a silk manufacturing centre. Blockley is very much alive with a primary school, WI, horticultural society, church, bowling green, sports club and others adding to a vibrant social setting. The community run village shop is a hub and the café next door offers special dining events.

We enjoyed our time here! Living area was a little tight for three people, specially for eating at a fold away table, but the bedrooms were great. A lovely cottage for a weekend stay.

Lovely cottage in a beaitiful village, Rural Retreats have paid attention to almost all the details with thought and care , only the slightly odd heating system times stopped me giving it 5 stars

Great location. The village of Blockley is lovely. The cafe is well worth going to for an evening meal. There's nice walking in the area, even just walking out from Blockley. The house itself is small, as is the garden. All quite nice and comfortable, but not spacious. The exposed stone inside and the character of the place does make up for that considerably. The stairs are steep and a little uneven, so take them slowly. The wifi and Smart TV were both good. Dog-wise - it was a nice gesture to include some dog treats in the welcome pack, and there were a couple of water bowls in the house. The garden is well fenced, particularly for a small dog, but is separated from the house by a path shared by all the cottages in the row. I think it's mostly used by the others on bin day. There is a gate at the end next to the cottage, and also a gate on the other side, although that's awkward to fully close without moving the neighbour's bins. Plus there's a gate to the actual garden, so once you're in there it's secure. This all worked fine for our dog, but if you have a bit of an escape artist you can't simply let them into the garden from the house without supervising.
