About this property

Cotswold Water Park 5 miles. A pretty traditionally-styled cottage providing light modern accommodation nestled around a pretty pond, reminiscent of an historic mill side village on the edge of the sympathetic waterside development, Lower Mill Estate, on the edge of the Cotswold Water Park. Set just a short drive from the popular market town of Cirencester, this is a perfect base for families or friends looking to enjoy the diverse and beautiful surrounding countryside, yet being close to busy towns and historic cities. Set over two floors, there are three comfortable bedrooms, one with an en-suite, with a family bathroom and an additional shower room on the ground floor. There is a well-equipped kitchen leading into a light and airy dining area and cosy sitting area with welcoming woodburner. Step through the patio doors and you can sit outside on the lovely decked garden and enjoy alfresco dining and share the day's experiences from the local water park or the superb on-site facilities. The cottage is on the edge of the fabulous Lower Mill Estate, which opens up on-site activities such as swimming, walking, watersports and tennis. The on-site shop sells every day essentials whilst Ballihoo, the on-site restaurant serves tasty dishes using local produce.

There are even more adventures available just a short drive away at the Cotswold Water Park, peppered with in-land waterways and lakeside beaches. You are ideally placed to explore the fabulous countryside, with Cirencester being just a short drive away, acting as a gateway to the famous Cotswolds, with fabulous walking along the Cotswold Way or Ridgeway and beautiful towns and villages waiting to be explored. The area offers numerous outdoor activities, from the local waterpark to cycling, walking and local golf courses. In addition there are numerous National Trust properties in the area, including the 17th century weavers’ cottages in Bibury, an iconic Cotswold image, Chedworth Roman Villa, Sherbourne Estate or enjoy the countryside at Minchinhampton Common or Crickley Hill, all within 15 miles. Slightly further afield, why not enjoy the walk along the Ridgeway and marvel at one of the Wiltshire White Horses at Uffington, in another AONB The North Wessex Downs? You can experience the stunning historical city of Bath, take to the waters at the Roman Baths, explore the majestic Abbey or soak up the cosmopolitan cafés surrounded by the stunning Georgian architecture. The Regency spa town of Cheltenham, considered the centre of the Cotswolds, offers cultural treats and is home to the famous Cheltenham Races. This is a perfect waterside retreat on a popular development, close to the bustling market town of Cirencester and the iconic Cotswold scenery and is ideal for families and friends looking to enjoy the fantastic local countryside or soak up the nearby cosmopolitan and historic towns.

The town of Stroud is known as the less commercial corner of the Cotswolds, a somewhat bohemian collection of buildings, squares and lanes, tucked into the green hills which once housed countless sheep during the Cotswold’s woolen industry. Today Stroud welcomes visitors to its friendly cafes, quaint bookshops, independent shops and tempting eateries and has a regular farmers market, year-round music and theatre, a thriving arts scene and a state of the art cinema.
