About this property

Pandia is ideal for families, couples, and guests with pets. It opens into a spacious open-plan living room and kitchen with inviting dining and sitting areas. A welcoming open-log fire adds to the romantic atmosphere, and the whole cottage is full of light. There are three bedrooms upstairs: a single, twin, and a large double room with a king-size bed, and a bathroom. All rooms overlook lawns, gardens and fields. Pandia is a former coach and stables built in 1705. It oozes character throughout with its exposed 17th-century beams and charming original paintings and pottery by Cornish artists and artisans. Your garden and lawn with garden furniture are exclusively for your own use. Pandia is perfectly situated for visiting the beautiful sandy beaches and cliffs of the North Coast – great for bodyboarding and surfing - and the delightful fishing villages and exotic gardens of the South Coast. After a fun day out, enjoy a relaxing evening in this lovely 'cottage in the woods'. You are free to roam the colourful larger gardens full of gigantic rhododendrons, camellias, flowers, lawns, blue-bell-filled beech woodland, lily ponds, and wildlife – and views to the South Coast. There's lots to do with moorland and woodland walks right on the doorstep and activities for children nearby. We provide plenty of materials with ideas for what to do around Pandia and across Cornwall, including family-friendly attractions, grand houses and gardens, the best beaches, coastal and cross-Cornwall walks, great places to eat, cycling trails and fun sports, heritage and archaeology, and local events to help you plan a perfect holiday. Pandia is set within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the marvellous accredited Bodmin Moor Dark Sky Landscape.

The vast and rugged Bodmin Moor, designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, forms over 150 square miles of rocky landscape, with much of it declared a Site of Specific Scientific Importance. There are plenty of walks to discover, with challenging climbs up some of the tallest spots in Cornwall, offering far-reaching views towards both the north and south coast on fine days. The nearby town of Launceston, fondly thought of as the Gateway to Cornwall, can be found to the north east, with Georgian buildings set around its central square, and romantic ruins of a Norman castle at the outskirts. In the other direction, the historic town of Bodmin lies to the south west, with a host of exciting attractions including its Courtroom Experience, the Bodmin Jail, the Bodmin and Wenford Railway, or a trip to see each of the seven holy wells, which lie dotted around the town. With much to see and do, and scenery all around, Bodmin Moor is a delightful destination for your holiday.

It is well maintained, beautifully clean and equipped with everything necessary for a pleasurable stay. The welcome pack and provision of basics was very generous. The beautiful open fireplace really made our evenings so snug and cosy. The beds are very comfy too. The grounds are beautiful and full of wildlife. We loved watching the birds and especially the woodpeckers. Even in early January there were Camellias and daffodils to enjoy. Our three little dogs enjoyed themselves too, although the garden is vast and not enclosed so an eye needed to be kept on the dogs at all times. Blankets and old towels were provided for the dogs which was extremely helpful. Geraldine made us very welcome and ensured we had a comfortable stay. Everything about Pandia shows how thoughtfully it has been curated for the enjoyment of guests. We loved our stay and hope to return.

Bodmin was nearest but this was central point to head to north or south coast.

The cottage was one of the best we've ever stayed in. Geraldine the caretaker was lovely, so helpful and informative. The area is beautiful, so quiet and the night skies are outstanding. Highly recommend
