The kitchen boasts a sleek and elegant design with the white kitchen units housing everything you could possibly need to cater for yourself during a week-long break. As the evening draws to a close, retire to one of the bedrooms, each boasting a tranquil atmosphere to wake up to each morning. Choose between a well-presented double bedroom and a bunk bedroom which is well-equipped for any younger guests and offers access to the conservatory, where you can enjoy your morning coffee during a summer’s day. Mount Hawke is a small village just outside St Agnes and Porthtowan on the north Cornish coast. Once heavily involved in the local copper mining industry, today Mount Hawke is quiet and mainly residential. There is a church which is dedicated to St John the Baptist, and a very good gastro pub – The Old School Bar & Kitchen – which is, as the name suggests, in a restored, traditional school building. There is also a Post Office, a couple of shops, a primary school, village park and Cornwall’s largest indoor skate park. Porthtowan beach is a pleasant walk from the village, through woodland and a pretty valley, and St Agnes Beacon and the coastal footpath are also within easy reach. Kayak hire and tours are available at St Agnes, as are surf lessons. There are also riding stables at nearby Goonbell, which offer countryside hacks and treks as well as pub hacks, summer picnic rides and children’s Pony Days.
