About this property

For keen cyclists, walkers and nature lovers, or just those who want a truly peaceful break away, this spacious yet cosy detached barn conversion is absolutely perfect. It is set amongst beautiful woodland, two miles from one of Bodmin Moor's prettiest villages, Blisland. This is an ideal location for a relaxing holiday and the owners live nearby, so are on hand should you have any queries. As you approach the cottage, up a long private lane, you begin to sense the unique setting of Bulls Cottage, surrounded by private gardens. Parking outside, you enter the cottage into an open plan living room, which is full of character with a woodburner and comfortable sofas. From the sitting area, the conservatory is perfect for dining, whatever the weather, and the kitchen is well equipped. The two bedrooms are set on different floors, offering privacy for couples and when travelling with friends. A few stairs lead up from the living area to the beautiful double bedroom in the eaves, enjoying lovely views and stairs lead down from the living area to the bathroom and twin bedroom, which has the advantage of French doors that lead directly out onto the patio garden. Outside, the gardens offer total relaxation, with a barbecue and garden furniture so you can enjoy alfresco dining when the weather is warm. Two major attractions, one on the doorstep and one two miles away, are not to be missed; The Blisland Inn is a national award-winning CAMRA pub that people travel from all over the county to visit, for both excellent beer and food. Closer to home, situated at the bottom of the drive is Poley's Bridge; this is famous as the start of the Camel Trail, a 17-mile route that follows the tracks of a former railway line, one of the oldest in the world, all the way to Padstow. Because it was designed for steam engines, there are no steep inclines and it is traffic free, making it perfect for both cyclists and walkers! The trail is also popular with birdwatchers, with a purpose-built hide to be found half way between Wadebridge and Padstow. With so much to do close by, and the north coast within 20 minutes and the south coast 30 minutes, a stay at Bulls Cottage offers a well-earned break at any time of year.

Situated under the western edge of granite-bound Bodmin Moor, the village of Blisland retains its age old character and is the only village in Cornwall to have a village green with trees. Around the green, cluster old houses and cottages, as well as the famous, award-winning Blisland Inn. The village is located less than three miles from the A30, and so provides an ideal central location for touring Cornwall.
