The lounge has a terrible smell. This is likely due to the large amount of mould growing on the back wall (see photo). (Also mould on wall of the "snug")The internet didn't work for half of the holiday. After numerous calls, and a BT visit it turned out that the router was faulty. It was at least 8 years old, and should have been replaced long before our visit The microwave did not work, it turned on, but didn't heat. The toaster set off the smoke alarm every time it was usedThe DVD on display in the lounge did not work. After wasting time trying to make it work we discovered there was a built in DVD on the TV and the player on the stand is for display only. The light to indicate that the top oven has reached temperature is brokenThe bath overflow leaks into the lounge and judging by patches on ceiling of lounge this has been happening for a while. The kettle appears to be on the way out as it doesn't always turn off when it boils. Owner booked an engineer to come out early one morning (9:00 am) with out asking us if convenient. The water had to be turned off while we were all in the middle of getting ready in the morning. The sofas are very old and uncomfortable. One of the kitchen drawers is very stiff and very difficult to use, which is awkward as it is the draw that the cutlery is stored. The housekeeper left the cottage very clean, and a very nice supply in the hamper, but it is clear the owners have not maintained the property or replaced any items for a number of years.

Beautiful cottage, conveniently located to explore North Cornwall. The house was quiet and the garden was perfect for enjoying the warm weather. This was much appreciated by our dog. The housekeeper was very helpful, left the cottage immaculate, and provided a generous welcome hamper of local produce. The cottage was well equipped but looking a little tired. Would score 5 with new settees and a kitchen upgrade.
