Being in the heart of the village a very short stroll brings you to the village pub, The Bettle and Chisel, a listed inn with a comprehensive menu offering locally sourced food and local ales. The well-known Smugglers Fish and Chip shop is a popular place to stop after a long day spent on the beach. Also a lovely half mile walk away is the Poldark Inn on the cliffs, and a 10 minute drive or a 45 minute walk, will get you to Trebarwith Strand. This has a stunning beach with great surf and small cafe and shop. It also has the Port William Inn, a traditional smugglers haunt, which does amazing food in a stunning setting overlooking the sea. There is an incredible number of stunning beaches within 20 minutes’ drive, offering a wide variety of surf and sea based activities. There are also many walking opportunities close by and the wild surfing beach at Tregardock, a 40 minute walk away, is well worth seeing. Also within easy reach are Tintagel with St Nectan's Glen and King Arthur’s Castle, Port Isaac (Doc Martin), Boscastle and Padstow, as well as the cities of Truro and Plymouth both being about 45 minutes away. Delabole has an interesting and unique history having the oldest slate quarry in Europe. Delabole will provide you with a quiet village location just a short drive from the beaches at Polzeath, Rock, Trebarwith and Tintagel. This stretch of coastline has safeguarded bathing beaches, surfing and cliff top walks along the South West coast path. Delabole is less than half an hour's drive from Bodmin Moor including the dramatic landscape around Rough Tor, perfect walking country.
