About this property

In 1.5 acres of stunning grounds, discover Thyme Cottage, adjoined to the owner’s main farmhouse; a wonderful barn conversion with beautiful surroundings. The open-plan living area is divided between a light and airy lounge featuring plush furnishings in which to curl up with your loved ones and unwind during the evening in front of the wood burning stove which provides a warm and cosy atmosphere during those cooler evenings. The whitewashed walls uplift the room, whilst the kitchen/dining area brings a country cottage feel enhanced by all-round oak units. Take advantage of the contemporary appliances and cook up a storm for the whole family along with a glass of wine to compliment your culinary skills. Two bedrooms promise a wonderful night's sleep, the first is presented as a king-size double, and the second a twin, introducing attractive furnishings with plenty of storage space, Velux window with black out blind (twin room) and exposed beams. A stable door opens out to the cottage’s private rear patio, where you can enjoy a barbecue or simply relax on the furniture available. The beautiful Bodmin Moor provides an exceptional base to explore the rural countryside and open moorland. Take the chance to enjoy some walking, hiking, cycling or even mountain biking. Popular places for water sport activities are Siblyback and Colliford lakes, covering more than 900 acres, perfect for fishing, kayaking, jogging and much more. Travel towards The Gateway to Cornwall, also known as Launceston for a plethora of traditional Cornish pubs and restaurants, as well as a great choice of shops and supermarkets for picking up those last-minute essentials. The beautiful sandy beaches on the North Coast are easily accessed from the cottage’s location, ideal for fun filled family days out, as well as the village of Tintagel Castle and Merlin's Cave, a popular tourist attraction. Thyme Cottage is the perfect base for accessing the best of what Cornwall has to offer. Neil and Julie were on hand when needed and the cottage and gardens were great with the attention to detail outstanding. Lovely tasty cream tea had been left in the cottage for our arrival and freshly picked flowers from the garden. Highly recommended.
