A wonderful, well-equipped lodge situated on the grounds of the popular award-winning Atlantic Bays Holiday Park, Chalet H5 couldnt be any more suitable for fun-filled holiday with the family! Located near the coast, the chalet offers accommodation for five people in one double and one triple bunk room, as well as family bathroom. The open-plan kitchen, diner and sitting room creates an ideal living space for home-cooked meals or just cosying up on a sofa in front of the TV. In the evening sun watch the kids play and kick a football on the abundance of land around the property whilst enjoying a refreshing drink on the decking area of the lodge. Venture to St Merryn which is only a mile away and explore the many shops, bars, restaurants and pubs. Nearby are the delightful sandy beaches of Newquay and are a must for surfers! St Merryn is a typical Cornish village, located within two miles of the coast and close to the harbour and fishing port of Padstow. St Merryn offers two pubs, three restaurants, mini markets and a Post Office and there are many attractions nearby. 11 miles away is Newquay which has three major beaches, the National Surf Centre and an endless supply of rolling surf, ideal for watersports. There is also good shopping , a zoo and Sealife centres, as well as nightlife.

Die Türen lassen sich alle nicht richtig schlieÃen, was einen Aufenthalt mit Teenagern erschwert. Das Ehebett ist nur 1,20 breit. Nach dem Duschen stand das Bad immer unter Wasser. Es ist leider nichts fuÃläufig zu erreichen, man muss immer fahren. Es wurde zwar mit freiem WLAN geworben, leider hat man aber kaum mal ein Netz. Das positive ist, dass die Stadt Padstow, die in der Nähe ist, wirklich nett und sehenswert ist. Wir waren nur zu dritt und das war platztechnisch okay. Für 5 wäre es definitiv zu eng.

The property is tired and in need of attention throughout. We did give some immediate feedback to someone who popped round very soon after our arrival to be told she would report our initial complaint about the fridge - there was only one remaining shelf on the inside of the door making it very difficult to stack enough of our food items in the fridge. We had to leave some items out of the fridge. The hob was painfully slow, the pans bent out of shape so they had poor contact with the hob. The bottom drawer in the "main" bedroom was broken and useless. The horrible curtains in the main bedroom hang in your face when you lie down - not hygienic. It is very difficult to dry items due to the lack of a decent drying rail. Caravans on the site had lovely rotary driers which this place desperately needs. The shower curtain was disgusting with pink and black mould about a foot up it. The lockbox for the key is on its last legs and requires replacement. The bedroom window was extremely difficult to open, only one of our party could manage this. Our neighbours in the next chalet had stayed on another site the previous week and were extremely disappointed with their chalet by comparison.

I had to try four times and wait in a queue on the phone to Sykes for a couple of hours before getting through. When I did get through the person I spoke to was very helpful and efficient. The chalet was as would be expected - pleasant enough and provided an enjoyable holiday, but it is small for a family of 5. The lounge area and kitchen are quite good. It is the bedrooms that feel a squeeze and don't have much storage space for clothes. Some of the equipment could do with being replaced rather than patched up. Having said that, it was a reasonable place to stay for a short holiday, was clean and was a good location.
