Close to four of Cornwall's most idyllic beaches, including one listed as Britain's best secret beach and the famous cliff-top Minack Theatre, this really is a special part of the world. On arriving at the cottage, one of a small cluster of farm cottages you will sense the relaxing feel that this beautiful area exudes. Parking directly outside this delightful cottage you pass through the garden before entering into the charming open plan living area with a cosy sitting area and a warming woodburning stove. The three bedrooms are on the first floor all offering uninterrupted views over the unspoilt landscape. A walk across the fields will take you to Porthcurno Bay, with its turquoise waters and golden rocks. Situated to the west of the bay right on the cliffs is the world famous Minack Theatre, a wonderful open air theatre where between May and September performances both music and theatrical are regularly staged giving experiences that will be remembered forever. For the adventurous if you are prepared to scramble down the cliff path you will be rewarded by the beach at Pedn Vounder, named by the Times as Britain's best secret beach. Rarely crowded, even in high summer, the water here is crystal clear but care must be taken whilst swimming as the currents can be strong. Also close by is the popular and stunningly beautiful Sennen Cove offering a large stretch of golden sand and waves that are perfect for surfing. A holiday at Tyvounder whatever time of year will give you the opportunity of a holiday you will never forget in one of the most stunning corners of Britain.

The small village of Porthcurno is situated four miles from Land’s End on the south coast of West Cornwall. The village has a sandy beach, a café, a restaurant that’s open during the summer season and cliff-top and coastal walks. Porthcurno is also home to the Porthcurno Telegraph Museum, where you can learn about the underwater cables that connected the village to various places around the world. To the west of Porthcurno is the famous Minack Theatre, which is a superb open air venue with 750 seats and boasts views across Porthcurno Bay to The Lizard. Close by is Land’s End, the most westerly point of mainland England offering something for all the family, and also within reach are lovely Cornish towns and villages, including the popular resorts of Penzance and St Ives. A delightful base for exploring this part of Cornwall.

Note: During the summer one bag of wood is provided per week and during winter months two bags of wood are provided for the Woodburning Stove.
