    About this property

St Ives 2 miles. Ideally located for touring the beautiful north west coast of Cornwall, this charming, traditional stone-built cottage sits on the outskirts of the village of Halsetown, just a couple of miles from popular St Ives. Full of character, with beamed ceilings and an original stone fireplace, you’ll feel right at home from the minute you arrive. The sociable sitting room features cosy seating and a dining area, whilst the kitchen and family bathroom can also be found on the ground floor. Upstairs, the two comfortable bedrooms look out across charming Cornish countryside, and outside, the pretty garden, which is shared with the adjoining cottage, offers a relaxing seating and barbecuing area, providing a perfect place to enjoy the last of the day’s rays after a day on the beach. The village of Halsetown, only a three minute walk away, features the excellent award-winning Halsetown Inn, famous throughout Cornwall for quality food. With the delightful town of St Ives and its superb beaches, restaurants and quaint cobbled streets just a few minutes’ drive away, or accessible via the park and ride from Halsetown during peak season, this is a wonderful holiday home in a perfect location. Add to this the iconic coast of Cornwall with its array of stunning beaches and ancient fishing villages nearby, and you have a cottage to be enjoyed throughout the year. Note: This property can be booked with Ref 20668, together they sleep 8.

One of Cornwall's prettiest harbour towns, St Ives offers narrow streets, tight-packed cottages nestling around the quayside, the Tate Gallery and Barbara Hepworth museum, fabulous beaches, superb shops, a thriving community of artists, great pubs and restaurants and much more. With its semi Bohemian lifestyle and romantic air, it's easy to see why this is the county's premier holiday resort. A superb destination!

"Lovely views, exceptional viability of stars at night, good food at The Halsetown Inn, great walk down to St Ives, and a challenging walk back up."
    Mr Fonyodi ‐ 1 Sep 2018
"Lovely outlook in a quiet secluded setting. However,it could do with some modernisations to fixtures and fittings. Especially in the bathroom. Having said that we had a lovely time and would use Cottages again."

"Lovely views, exceptional viability of stars at night, good food at The Halsetown Inn, great walk down to St Ives, and a challenging walk back up. We're not great ones for revisiting places, but I wouldn't hesitate to return, maybe next door."
    Mrs Tillotson Smith ‐ 1 Aug 2018
"The cottage is very small but cosy and comfortable and we liked it very much even after 2 weeks. It is down some very narrow and unmade roads and the fixtures and fittings could definitely do with an upgrade but the beds are the most comfortable I have ever slept on. If you are allergic to feathers though, take your own bedding. The kitchen is tiny but pretty well equipped and the WiFi is very good. I missed the use of a washing machine but it wasn't a great problem and the stairs are ..."

This was our second visit to Cornwall and we love the Land's End Peninsula; the drive down the coastal road and an afternoon at Land's End with its spectacular views, is a favourite day out. St Ives is a very pretty town with typically Cornish steep and narrow roads and the view of the St Ives Bay is glorious. Due to disabilities we are generally unable to use public transport and struggled to find parking in the town which was, for us, too busy in August. If you want to eat out anywhere, you really need to book ahead. We would definitely like to return to S25934, surprisingly both my teenage sons loved the place and when we lost the door keys late one evening, the owners were very friendly and helpful. Thank you, we had a very good family holiday,"

"The property was adequate. We had amazing weather but if it had been wet there was no where to dry wet clothes and boots. The kitchen was basic , no cupboard space to put your own groceries. Bathroom needs attention. There were two of us which gave us space but four adults it would have been very full. We feel the property needs money spent on it to update everything. Good walking from the house to St Ives> No maps at the property!."

"We did realise that the bathroom was downstairs normally this wouldn’t have been an issue, however the stairs are quite steep and rickety. This could be made better by having another hand rail and maybe some rubber treads on the stairs. Also the bottom stair tread is split the full width, this needs rectifying to make it safe. The cottage is well positioned for walking into St Ives and touring local attractions."

"Very, very basic. Chest of drawers was broken. Hard to find and no back up from owner. Only one entrance so no fire exit."

"Nice quiet location to 'get away from it all' but with St.Ives only 10 minutes away- a clean & tidy typical granite Cornish cottage with beams and stone fireplace."

Mr Richard Morgan, West Drayton, Middlesex
"S25934 was as good as hoped, it was situated in a quiet location and we all felt comfortable and safe there. The local pub was close enough to hand for our requirements and a Co-op was only a short drive away. Both served us well. The local bus services were more than adequate for the return journey and brought us back close to our temporary home. "
    Mrs Bailey
"Great location and the cottage was cleaned to a high standard. Little extra items such as washing up items and bin bags provided."
