About this property

This enchanting cottage, just over one mile from the beautiful beaches and harbour at iconic St Ives, nestles in a glorious countryside setting, with Cornish lanes leading to a gaggle of pretty dwellings at the end of a private country lane. Gillyflower Cottage is the ideal romantic escape or a family and friends' bolthole, with a sitting room and dining space with beams, a woodburner and snug sofas for guaranteed comfort. The kitchen is contemporary with all of the mod cons, there is a sun room at the front - a divine space for a quiet read. The first floor host two peaceful bedrooms plus a family bathroom. The enclosed garden at the rear is a great spot for a barbecue, and has storage for beach gear after a day’s fun in the sand and surf. Picturesque St Ives can be reached within 10 minutes by car or a 20 minute stroll. There are excellent eateries, traditional inns and coffee houses on the waterfront overlooking the boats in the harbour and beach. Porthmeor Beach has golden sands, a surf school, seasonal lifeguard patrol and a café/bar. Porthgwidden lies at the other side of the headland known as The Island. The cobbled alleys and lanes of St Ives are home to galleries, gift shops and boutiques. A short walk from the heart of the town is the train station with breath-taking north Cornish coast views. Ramblers and dogs will enjoy exploring the coastal path to Godrevy Lighthouse and beyond. Play golf, visit Legendary Land’s End, lively Penzance and mystical St Michael’s Mount - all easily reachable hot spots.

One of Cornwall's prettiest harbour towns, St Ives offers narrow streets, cottages nestling around the quayside, the Tate Gallery and Barbara Hepworth museum, fabulous beaches, superb shops, a thriving community of artists, great pubs and restaurants and much more. With its semi Bohemian lifestyle and romantic air, it's easy to see why this is the county's premier holiday resort.
