Snaptrip says

Haye Barton Farm receives high praise for its spaciousness, comfort, and warm atmosphere. Guests consistently commend the property's suitability for large groups, including families and pets. The host, David, is frequently mentioned for his welcoming and helpful nature. The property's rural charm and the availability of on-site activities contribute to its appeal, despite occasional comments on Wi-Fi connectivity.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Reviews consistently mention the property being clean and well-maintained, with no negative comments on cleanliness, indicating high standards are met.

The property's secluded and tranquil setting is appreciated by guests, though its remoteness means a drive is required for attractions and services, which is not a drawback for most.

Guests find the farmhouse cosy and comfortable, with special mentions of the warm house, comfortable beds, and ample social space, suggesting a very comfortable stay.

The property is praised for being well-equipped and offering ample facilities, including a sports barn and log burners. However, the mention of intermittent Wi-Fi suggests a slight deduction.

While the host is noted for being accommodating and welcoming, there are no specific mentions of gifts or special thoughtful touches that would warrant a score in this category.

About this property

Haye Barton Farm is a huge, detached, completely private, south-facing farmhouse on three levels, looking over 115 acres of farmland and bluebell woods which are all yours to roam and explore with care; there is a river - great for older children but small children should be supervised. The village of St.Ive is 1½ miles away and the house is approached over its own track. Step inside a huge farmhouse kitchen with dining table and chairs one end with wood-burning stove and flagstone floor, with the added novelty of a glass-topped original well by the sink! Walk through to an equally large living room with inglenook and wood-burning stove. At this level there is a big utility room and toilet. Head up the stairs to five bedrooms, three king-size and one romantic super king-size four-poster and two twin. Family bathroom and shower-room. Take a few more stairs up to a second living room-cum-den with double sofa bed and a super-king double bedroom with en suite shower-room - in this room there are some sloping beams. Immediately in front, there is a small, enclosed walled garden. Once all was thriving with a variety of farming activities, now the surrounding barns are mostly vacant. An open-ended barn contains table tennis and badminton and the rest provide sanctuary for swallows. This is a great central spot from which to explore the county, but once here you might not want to leave! This is a terrific family house offering freedom for children.

Close to the southern edge of Bodmin Moor, the pretty village of St Ive is characterised by rolling green fields, stone circles, rocky tors and a labyrinth of paths winding through the countryside.

The owner David was terrific and leaves you to get on with things but if you need anything he is right there. The property has everything you need. There was twelve of us and we had a great time.

6 adults, 3 children and 3 dogs all thoroughly enjoyed our stay. David was attentive and made sure we felt welcomed to the farmhouse, even letting us know about the local village show. Can't recommend this hidden gem enough

There were 11 of us plus 2 dogs and we all had ample room. The house and the surrounding areas are superb. We met Dave and his family during our stay and they were lovely down to earth people. Dave came round and told us about places to visit and eat and we found some hidden gems. These included the Wheal Tor Hotel and let me tell you the views from this place are spectacular and the staff were very friendly aswell. Another hidden gem was Golitha Falls, this was great to let the dogs off and have a lovely walk through the woods to find the waterfall and the dogs can have a paddle too. If you think this house is too far from the main attractions in Cornwall then you’re wrong. During our stay we visited Lands End, Penzance, Newquay, Truro, Looe and St Ives and the car journey’s didn’t feel long at all. There is a family BBQ on site which we used during our stay and a lovely outdoor seating area to socialise in the nice weather. The 2 log burners are fantastic in the house and are great if it gets a bit chilly on a night. Dave was always on hand checking we had enough logs. The dogs can have as much freedom as possible as there are lots of fields around the house. If you are looking for a big house which is dog friendly and out in the sticks away from the outside world this is the place to stay. We will definitely return and would recommend to anyone. Thanks.
