… in Trelights, a semi-detached, 400-year-old cottage serving as the village forge in a previous century when it formed part of the vast Lanhydrock estate. Now, for two generations of the same family, a much loved, well-equipped retreat. At the back, an enclosed, sheltered courtyard with 13 steps up to sun deck (bench) and, across the lane, a mostly lawned, enclosed sunny garden.
Inside, a surprising amount of space and a good deal of charm. From the lane, door into large living room with open fire, TV/DVD/video and wood and slate floor at one end, and at the other end a lovely old settle - reputedly made for occupants long ago. Step up to open-plan fitted kitchen/dining room with brick floor, conservatory one end and utility room the other (dishwasher, washing machine, tumble drier, microwave, fridge-freezer) with back door to courtyard. Ground-floor shower-room (suite, large cubicle). Open tread stairs from living room up to three bedrooms – a double (5’ bed), step up to a twin, and another small twin; big bathroom (suite with separate shower). Well-equipped and homely.

"Family get together with my 92yr old Dad,my brother lives in trelights so very handy for us.Cottage I'd call quaint,reminded us of one we stayed in,in Orkney.Once you've found your away around the fetch the butter,then glasses to get drinks,kept us fit ha.Quirky and place,steps and weird kitchen layout,times we made toast to have to Quaint sums it up.Lovely sun trap outside.Except Mr toad who insisted on meeting me at the stable door on more than one occasion,think I jumped more than him ha."
