Due to steep gradients and steps, Towan Valley may not be suitable for wheelchair users or persons with mobility difficulties.

In general we had a lovely week in Towan Valley but two things really let the house down for us; the first was the bathrooms. We were in house 3 and I appreciate that they may all be different but they were just cheap. The sinks were so small you couldn’t even brush your teeth and the useless bathroom cabinet was so close to the sink that you would bang your head on it and does it really cost that much to put toilet roll holders in each bathroom, just little things but would have made such a difference. The second thing was the hot tub, it was just dangerous. You’re on a slope so the hot tub is at a funny angle so water just kept pouring out, the stepping stones to the hot tub were made for giants so you ended up walking on stones and when they were wet they were very slippery. There was no hot tub maintenance so by the end of the week we just didn’t want to use it and the steps from the house to the hot tub were badly designed and accident prone, which all led to two disappointed teenagers who didn’t want to be out there.What makes this place really stand out is it’s location, it’s just stunning and with the two issues aside we had a great week in Cornwall we just shan’t be going back to Towan Valley.

Location amazing with great views but that’s where it ended. Our lodge wasn’t ready by 17:00 and we were not told about it. Loose fixtures and fittings. Lights in the hot tub didn’t work, nor was it checked daily like it should be. It also wasn’t under a cover so lots of debris fell into it from the trees above when the in use. Cleaning wasn’t great lost of dust and dirt. No grass in the ‘enclosed’ garden. Not great as it’s ‘dog friendly’. As for the ‘garden’ there was a drop of about 2 ft with no guard rail so couldn’t leave the dog outside alone. Steps were far to small and they also had no rail. We were supposed to have a king size bed in the master, it was just two singles pushed together with very old uncomfortable mattresses. This was supposed to be an ‘upgrade’. I think not. Bitterly disappointed. If it weren’t for the location it wouldn’t be more than a 2-3/10
