Towan Valley is perfectly located for exploring Cornwall. Set between St Ives and Newquay, these two picturesque towns offer both sandy beaches and fantastic eateries. If you don’t feel like venturing further afield, Porthtowan Beach is just five minutes away and offers scenic walks and surfing opportunities.

We had a great time in Porthtowan. The accommodation was exceptional and located a short distance from the sandy beach (Lifeguard patrolled). Kids loved exploring and we had some decent food and drink on the beach front in the Blue Bar (bit on the expensive side however). Awesome ice creams in MooMaids and enjoyed lunch in the beach cafe which was very good + decent value. We didn't go in The Unicorn but that also looked like a friendly and well run place to visit. We would definitely go back again and rate our experience as an excellent break for anyone interested in surfing/body-boarding with a young family.
