Thank you for the cream tea welcome!! Most appreciated by all! We have had a lovely two weeks, weather most kind. Family live in Illogan so we were on hand to celebrate a christening and 60th birthday. The house is very much home from home!! Thank you again. The Holloway Family, Derbyshire. From Guestbook ‐ 24 Apr 2016
Just the Autumn break we needed.Gary & Harita ‐ 18 Apr 2016
After a long drive we are all very happy to be welcomed by such a nice and cozy house. We were surprised how spacious the house is and how well it's been looked after. Unfortunately we chose the worst weekend for weather with hail storms, heavy rainfall, gale force winds of up to 80mph, stormy seas and flood warnings all along the coastline but luckily S1218 has a well equipped kitchen that has everything you need to cook up some hearty meals to keep warm! Having the beach on our doorstep was fantastic and we even enjoyed dinner out under the stars on the porch one windy evening with the sounds of the crashing waves in the background. The house is very comfortably furnished and made us feel "at home. From Guestbook ‐ 14 Apr 2016
We had a great holiday at S1218, the weather could have been a bit kinder! House was very clean and tidy and everything was there that we needed. We loved the location right on the beach and to have a pub right on the doorstep was even better. The owners were very helpful and were there when we had a small problem, not the owners fault. I would love to come back sometime.Teresa Parslow ‐ 13 Apr 2016
Hi we have had a fabulous time, house lovely, great location for beach ETC., want to come back. From Guestbook ‐ 9 Apr 2016
We had such a wonderful weekend. Perfect little house with everything you need. Great location and not too far to go for days out. Just the weekend we needed together. Thank you.Donna & William ‐ 6 Apr 2016
We had a lovely holiday, S1218 very warm and comfortable. Location is great, especially for Junior/Senior children. Beach on the doorstep. Tesco delivery was ideal for holiday groceries.Brookes Family ‐ 20 Mar 2016
Very homely accommodation - shower is very good. Bedrooms are all very comfortable. Would recommend walk to Porthtowan. It took about 2 hours, and we saw and heard some seals. Porthtowan itself has lovely long beaches. Only fault it was unfortunate that the neighbour was undertaking a lot of noisy work - it meant sitting outside was not an option. Kitchen is very well stocked for any cooking eventuality. From Guestbook ‐ 11 Mar 2016
The boys loved going straight out onto the beach. The house is fully equipped beyond our expectations. The scones and cream were very much appreciated by us all. Thank you very much.Margaret, Rob, Helen, Jack & Sam ‐ 1 Mar 2016
Just leaving had a wonderful time and hope to return again. From Guestbook ‐ 1 Mar 2016
Safely in, lovely for the children to be able to change and go straight to the beach (smiley face) after a long journey. Just leaving now leaving mum and dad to unpack, you will be happy to know that David loves his black room and Bethany has declared this her "nicest holiday house in Cornwall ever " Had a great week and want to return. From Guestbook ‐ 18 Feb 2016
Love the house and want to return, great position. From Guestbook ‐ 17 Feb 2016

Gorgeous stay at the cottage! We thoroughly enjoyed our time here. Everything you could need, very cosy, felt like a comfortable home. Thank you so much for the warm and helpful welcome too. Amazing location, we'd love to come back soon.Lisa & David ‐ 12 Jan 2016
On arrival at S1218 we found the house to be spotlessly clean and very homely. Having 3 children with us who were under 31/2 years old, it was great to have a feeling of home from home. The location of the property was amazing. We spent 4 glorious days enjoying the beach and were so lucky having wonderful weather. The little added extras both inside the house (even matches in the draw which came in useful when lighting the disposable BBQ ) and all the beach equipment were very much appreciated.Portreath is a lovely village and has a very welcoming feel. The bakery and the Chinese takeaway were excellent. We have nothing to say but good comments on the property, location and support from Blue Chip and the owners throughout. We hope to go back next year. Thank you.Linda Probert ‐ 12 Jan 2016
An excellent 5 day break in a lovely house .Very pleasant and friendly owners, and a delicious cream tea in the fridge. No O2 mobile reception in the village, but the owners have reception with Orange. BT hotspot worked well. The house had a patio opening on to the beach, and you could hear the waves lapping when you went to sleep. Very relaxing. We would love to go back.Angela Wilson ‐ 7 Jan 2016
A very comfortable and well appointed cottage in a good position. Tesco is a great supermarket. Took us a while to get things working but after that it has been really good. Children must love it here - you have set up so well for them. Wish we were younger and could manage the walks. Loved Port Isaac and nearly blew away at Land's End. All in all a good week. Don and Barbara from Melbourne. From Guestbook ‐ 6 Jan 2016
Had a fantastic week, S1218 is ideal for family. Beautiful cottage, great location, very comfortable for all 5 of our party. Lauren 9 and Kate 6 spent all week on the beach, everyone had a great time and we hope to come back next year ! Thank you.Colleen, Chris, Lauren & Kate ‐ 4 Jan 2016
We have had a great week and really enjoyed our stay at S1218. Great to be so close to the sea. Would recommend the food at the Waterfront Inn, enjoyed a lovely sunday roast. We took advise and used the park and ride (train) from Lelant Saltings to St Ives which is really busy. It has been really relaxiing staying here, shame we have to go home. From Guestbook ‐ 30 Dec 2015
We are here all is wonderful, we are looking forward to our week ahead.(GOING HOME) Thank you for a home from home, just what dad would of wanted (sadly he had passed away before they had the holiday). Hope to be back. From Guestbook ‐ 26 Dec 2015
Had a lovely time and would like to return, her grandchildren loved it.From Guestbook ‐ 23 Dec 2015
Such fun! Lovely cottage, well equipped and thanks for the Christmas decorations - it all looked lovely when we arrived, with the table set for Xmas lunch with crackers and the tree and lights. We did do the boxing day swim (well, kind of) but it was mild. We love the location - we are often in Cornwall and this is probably the best for us so far. Loved all the supplies in the kitchen - made cooking for our family & visitors (brunch for 11 on Boxing day) very easy. Comfy beds and very cosy. Found getting channels on the TV challenging. Thanks. From Guestbook ‐ 6 Dec 2015
We really loved the house! The view was great and it was very nice that we could hear the sound of the sea in the bedrooms. The waves, here in Portreath, are gigantic! The weather has been very good, so it was the perfect time to go surfing. We also walked to Porthtowan. The views we had on the coast path were amazing. We will miss it here. Thank you! (And the scones were delicious)! Family Tilkin Peeters, Belgium. From Guestbook ‐ 6 Dec 2015
Very nice location - all amenities close (pubs, chip shop). Would recommend S1218. The bedroom very adequate - kitchen well stocked and rooms tidy and spacious. All in all a very pleasurable experience - sad to leave. PS - if reserving a table for a meal at the Basset Arms, make sure that you ask someone responsible. We reserved a table for Friday evening and found that no reservation was made. From Guestbook ‐ 27 Nov 2015
We have had a lovely time together as a family, at "Water's Edge". The location is ideal and we have enjoyed being able to walk out onto the beach every day and live close to the sea for 6 days. Portreath is such a pleasant spot - the coastline is beautiful around here and the surrounding area is peaceful. Water's Edge has been perfect for us and we have appreciated all the little extras and home comforts. It has been a free and easy and comfortable break for us. Thanks for the "WelcomeCream Tea ‐ 5 Nov 2015
A lovely house - what a good time we've had. Weather has been kind, we've had lovely walks, relaxing beach times, surfy sea & travels to ancient sites (Lanyon Quoite, Madron Well) so have had a lot of different things to do. Cliff walks towards Gwythian really spectacular and quite scary! Thank you from us all. From Guestbook ‐ 30 Oct 2015
WE THREE DISABLED OAPs DECIDED THAT THIS WOULD BE OUR LAST HOLIDAY IN CORNWALL AS THE 7 HOUR JOURNEY WAS BECOMING TOO MUCH FOR US AND WE ALWAYS LOST A DAY OF THE HOLIDAY RECOVERING. AS SOON AS WE ENTERED S1218 VIA THE KITCHEN OUR SPIRITS WERE LIFTED. ON SEEING THE SPOTLESLY CLEAN KITCHEN WE KNEW WE WERE NOT GOING TO BE DISAPPOINTED. ALL THE ROOMS WERE COMFORTABLE AND CLEAN AND FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER...I DIDN'T FEEL THAT I NEEDED TO GIVE THE SINKS, PLUG HOLES, CUTLERY AND CHINA A WASH BEFORE USE...JUST TO MAKE SURE. THERE WAS A VERY WELCOME CREAM TEA WAITING IN THE FRIDGE ON OUR ARRIVAL WHICH WE VERY MUCH APPRECIATED WITH A CUP OF TEA BEFORE WE UNPACKED. EVERYTHING YOU COULD POSSIBLY WANT WAS SUPPLIED, INCLUDING BOOKS AND GAMES IF THE WEATHER WASN'T TOO GOOD. S1218 BEING DIRECTLY ON THE BEACH WOULD BE IDEAL FOR A FAMILY WITH CHILDREN. WITH S1218 WE CERTAINLY DID SAVE THE BEST TILL LAST.Christopher Preedy ‐ 26 Oct 2015
