About this property

Mellow Cottage is a beautifully styled traditional stone cottage within walking distance of the big sandy beach in popular Perranporth. Mid terrace in a row of charming cottages, the accommodation offers a driveway with parking for two cars, set over two floors with four bedrooms and sleeps seven guests. Through the enclosed paved front garden with pretty floral archway into the little entrance porch, the sitting room oozes comfort and style with sofas, wood burner and beams and wood flooring. The kitchen is modern with all the appliances, flagstone floor and attractive dining area/family room for extra social space for get-togethers. The first floor has four bedrooms, overlooking the countryside or views to the raised terrace garden. The bathroom has both a bath and a shower cubicle and an additional separate cloakroom. The rear garden is accessed through a utility room and up two sets of paved steps. With picnic bench and loungers. it’s the best spot for dining or getting creative with the barbecue. The garden furniture in the front garden makes another sunny space for eating alfresco. Walk to all the facilities of Perranporth within minutes; beautiful beach, superb beach café/bar literally on the sand, shops, a choice of pubs and pasty and fish and chips galore. If you venture further, the north Atlantic coast is spoilt with Portreath, Porthtowan, Gwithian and St Agnes’ picturesque Trevaunance Cove. Swim, go rock-pooling, take surf lessons or drive a few extra miles to wonderful St Ives. The coast path walk is spectacular and delivers the most beautiful sunsets! For the perfect beach holiday, friends and family will adore Mellow Cottage.

Perranporth is a fabulous coastal town in the heart of Poldark Country, the setting for the novels of Winston Graham who lived in Perranporth in the 1930s. Perranporth offers traditional pubs and shops, plus a classic bucket-and-spade beach that is lifeguarded in summer, overlooked by craggy rocks and a scenic coastal path. Once known as the source of the finest tin, the community still retains reminders of the rich heritage with abandoned pump houses, mine shafts and workers’ cottages. The local Blue Hills Museum and Perranzabuloe Folk Museum are both well worth a visit to understand the fascinating history of this coastal area. Further afield are the miles of sandy beaches at Crantock and Holywell Bay, and the breathtaking coastal walks around St Agnes, much of it owned by the National Trust. A perfect holiday base in Cornwall, with an abundance of activities to suit everyone.

Owners were really helpful and a really nice property with fantastic location.

  • Malcolm

Cottage absolutely lovely including Jon's paintings on the walls. Really recommend the place and have been back online to look at booking for next year already.

  • Michael

Good location with just a few minutes walk to fantastic views over the bay and a few minutes more to be down at the beach and the town centre. Nicely decorated with plenty of space for our family of 4 plus dog. Well equipped property with all home comforts. Plenty of space for 1 car parked off-road. We enjoyed our week there hugely and would go again.
