About this property

Perfectly located for touring and exploring the magnificent far south west of Cornwall this charming and spacious 19th house is set in the heart of the historic fishing port of Newlyn adjacent to the town's famous art gallery. Enter Trevorrow House via the hallway passing through into kitchen diner with a range oven for cooking the fresh fish collected direct from the harbour. The sitting room is a comfortable retreat for relaxing after a day out along this magical coastline. There are three bedrooms , a double with en suite facilities, a further double and a single which along with the bathroom occupy the first floor. Lovers of good food are spoilt for choice here with a great selection of restaurants and pubs all within a few minutes walk such as the Tolcarne Inn, one of the finest food pubs in the County. With a host of art galleries, craft centres and pottery studios, cinema is wonderful, the Newlyn Picturehouse, which also has has a great restaurant. There will always be plenty to do and see in Newlyn and try at least on one morning to go to the harbour early and witness the spectacle of the fish straight off the trawlers being sold at market. All you need for your day to day shopping you will find in Newlyn itself with individual baker, butcher and pasty shops along with a small supermarket and fish and chip shop . You must treat yourself to a home made ice cream from the famous Jelberts ice cream parlour almost opposite the house, a real treat. Delightful walks can be enjoyed in either direction from the house. A pleasant level stroll along the promenade will take you to the much larger town of Penzance and in the other direction a longer but most enjoyable walk will take you to delightful fishing villge of Mousehole. Keen cyclists can enjoy the cycle path linking Mousehole to Marazion and accessed just a few steps away. A wonderful location for a great holiday in a comfortable relaxing house.

Newlyn is the third largest fishing port in England, and an important Port of Refuge for all sea baring craft. Visitors can still watch the landing and auctioning of fish at the market, as families have for centuries before. This village is clustered around the harbour, with its 800 year old quay curling around boats on the western side. Famous for the Newlyn school of Art and Newlyn Copper, the Cornwall Coastal Path passes through the village, as does the Mousehole to Marazion cycle path. Wildlife and flora can be enjoyed, with sharks, dolphins and grey seals often seen. The Cornish coast is renowned for surfing, and Penwith offers beaches on which to enjoy this sport as well as surf fishing for sea bass. Mounts Bay also offers a wealth of opportunity for watersports enthusiasts as well as giving visitors an opportunity to relax and unwind in beautiful surroundings.

We appreciated the welcome tray. The house was clean, warm and comfortable. Lots of fresh fish, pleasant walks into Penzance, salty air and intriguing, picturesque 18th century cottages hidden up the hill. Two early evenings we got the bus to explore Mousehole in the dark and we found more ancestors in St Buryan churchyard. Thank you.

The last five have been in Trevorrow House . We like the house , the town , the area and the people . I think it rained each day but we enjoyed all of it .

The house is in the middle of Newlyn on the level street near the Art Gallery . It is so well equipped , clean and ready for us each time that we cant wait to get back here. All of this end of Cornwall is easily accessed from here. Bus stops abound in Newlyn and Penzance bus station is a few minutes away by bus . Parking can be tricky but we have not had any problems . The people are friendly and the area is beautiful . We cant wait until next time .
