About this property

Sitting right in the heart of charismatic Mousehole, this charming cottage provides cosy and comfortable accommodation in this beautiful fishing village on the West Cornwall coast. A short stroll will take you to the quayside where locals swim, launch their kayaks and fishermen still land their daily catch of fresh mackerel, lobster and crab and with amenities along the harbour, this peaceful village is an ideal spot for a family holiday. Three lovely bedrooms are on the first floor and downstairs you will find a well equipped, modern kitchen and a comfortable lounge. Pop out into the small front garden and take in some sun while you enjoy a glass of your favourite tipple. The picturesque harbour area is surrounded by narrow streets where you will find art galleries, gift shops, a general store and restaurants and at low tide, you can enjoy a safe, sandy beach, an idyllic spot for sketching and imaginative photography. Pack a Cornish picnic and enjoy a magical show under the stars at the world famous, open air Minack Theatre. A short drive will take you to Marazion and the sunny town of Penzance, bustling with attractive streets housing antique and craft shops, pubs and eating houses. If you love golden sands, Porthcurno Beach is glorious with its Mediterranean feel and the popular Sennen Beach is a paradise for surfers, both within easy driving distance. This is an area favoured by many, so make sure you book your family holiday early, to avoid disappointment.

A delightful fishing village nestled on a hillside and spilling down to the shore. The picturesque harbour, surrounded by its maze of winding narrow streets, draws visitors from miles around, while in the distance St Michael's Mount stands proudly in the centre of Mounts Bay. A fabulous coastline and miles of spectacular walking characterise the area, with seabirds, seals and wild headlands leading just around the corner to Land's End. The Minack cliff-top theatre is a few miles along the coast, while reminders of the region's ancient past in the form of Dolmens and standing stones appear everywhere. St Ives, with its stunning beaches, beautiful harbour and narrow winding streets is just 12 miles away.

The cottage was well-equipped with everything we needed for our stay.

The cottage is is need to a bit of a spring clean and the main room mattress probably could do with a topper. It is worth noting that the Wi-Fi worked brilliantly and in lieu of a smart TV the access to DVDs and VHS was great, our young boys found this very entertaining. The cottage doesn't a have dishwasher but otherwise the kitchen is set up perfectly for cooking on holiday and the washer dryer worked brilliantly, is is important as drying clothes in the cottage was tricky. The lack of outdoor space was offset by the location as it was a stroll to a cafe or pub and with the porch at the front you can store all the beach stuff before entering the cottage. Our experience of parking was not as bad at all, we did park near old harbour restaurant but we quickly found the local authority parking which was half the price. We had no issues with the loading and unloading. Overall we had a wonderful time and absolutely love mousehole as our base. We hope to be back Thank you.
