Just what I needed. The cottage was cosy and comfortable. My hosts were really helpful and friendly. They keep hens - gave me some eggs - the best I’ve tasted in a long time. Wonderful views from the cottage when the weather was fine. But not a place to get good mobile phone or internet reception! In other words, great for peace and quiet, enjoying the countryside, and reading books. Lovely to be just on the edge of Exmoor - long a favourite place. Not really in the middle of nowhere - although it sometimes felt like that. Actually very well situated. I can’t wait to return.

Beautiful setting and lovely welcoming hosts. Bed was comfy, very warm central heating. Kitchen was well equipped with all you need for self catering. There is a hair dryer in the main bedroom, lots of hanging and cupboard space, iron and ironing board in the wardrobe and even some board games in the living room cupboard. The BBQ hut was a great feature and was a lovely, different experience for the 3 of us on Christmas day.One thing useful to mention in a review is that the hot water for baths is limited. I ran the bath as much as I could then boiled about 10 kettles and had a lovely deep relaxing hot bath during my stay on an evening my partner and daughter did not need a shower. For showers, the head is located at the tap end of the bath which is on a very low ceiling so you need to sit down to have a shower or hold the shower head in your hand away from the low end to be able to stand up.Getting to the location we were a little anxious about after reading previous reviews and reading the directions on the booking but considering we arrived in the dark and it is literally out in the sticks, it wasnt that bad at all. Google maps takes you all the way to the road of the hideaway, we only went wrong and drove into the only neighbours driveway upon taking a left at the little manmade 'Hideaway' sign instead of a right. The arrow could do with being a little higher above the shrubbery.Overall a lovely, comfortable, quiet and relaxing stay in beautiful surroundings. Would definitely come back to stay again and thoroughly recommend 
