About this property

Experience - The Area...Sitting in the pretty unpretentious garden you could be forgiven for thinking you were miles from anywhere but Pennywort Cottage can boast a most convenient location with the Atlantic Highway (A39) less than five minutes away. The market town of Camelford is again easily accessed and can offer convenience store, small supermarket, post office, two pubs, award winning fish and chip shop and a terrific Indian restaurant.  Slightly further afield are some of the County's most famous places to visit including Boscastle and Tintagel (6 miles), Port Isaac (10 miles) and Bude a half hours drive away. The beach at Trebarwith Strand near Tintagel is 5 miles away with the Port William pub situated above the beach serving pub food with amazing views!Stay - The Accommodation...From the parking space at the bottom of the garden, two small steps lead up onto an uneven pathway which winds its way through the slate chipping flower and shrub beds to the back of the cottage.  Two deep steps lead up into the spacious and well equipped kitchen with slate flooring and everhot range cooker taking central stage. Off the kitchen is the cosy living room with beamed ceiling, original slate flooring and attractive fireplace with inset wood burner for the cooler evenings. A handy porch inside the front door has the bathroom WC to one side with one deep step up into it, bath, overhead mixer shower, wash basin and WC.

The carpeted staircase (stairs are narrow and steep) with handrail leads up from the living room to the pretty double bedroom with comfortable king size bed. The mezzanine style bedroom has stripped pine floorboards with scatter rugs as well as ample wardrobe and shelf space.  A handy enclosed WC with wash basin in the bedroom completes the upstairs layout.

There is a small garden to the front of the cottage with a larger garden to the rear. The garden is partially enclosed with furniture and fire pit barbecue offering a good degree of privacy in parts.

If you need additional sleeping space for part or all of your stay then the carpeted, underfloor heated summerhouse with double bed, venetian blinds and television is available for a reasonable nightly rate (minimum 2 nights).

Don't forget...This property welcomes 2 small or medium size dogs or 1 large dog.

The summer house can be rented in addition to the cottage for £50 per night for up to 2 people including linen and heating.
