Okay… so I’m going to write an absolutely honest review of the holiday we experienced. On arrival the reception staff were ‘okay’ not rude in particular but didn’t really care much and we didn’t feel welcomed. On arrival to the caravan the outside looked like it had been stuck in someone garden for a year. Mud all over it and bird excrement covering every window. We went inside and found it grubby. Stains on all chairs and bedding. The place clearly hadn’t been properly cleaned. We had a left over sock from the people staying previous next to the mirror, not concealed, in plain sight. Amenities reasonable but no hand towels or ability to rent or borrow any. I’m accustomed to a little welcome pack which sees you through the first day or at least that is what we had when we stayed opposite this site in another well known lodge. Dust covered everything and just crumbs and dirt all over the floor. I had to clean before I could let anyone come in and even then it wasn’t up to the standard any normal person would expect to stay. I’m not being snobby at all, it was literally grubby. The laundrette was out of order due to an upgrade. We spoke to the chap carrying it out and he said he would be finished that day but unsure when it would be open, we asked at reception they had no idea it was shut, when it would be open and made a guess for the following week. Extremely helpful as we left on the Friday! The swimming pool was vile. The baby pool had dead flies floating in it. Not one, or two but countless. The lifeguard staff didn’t smile, say hello or appear to be anymore than people stood around the pool with judgey looks. I’m not sure if this place has just not recovered from Covid or if the people there just don’t care enough but for an extra £50 off I will be staying opposite this site in a much nicer park. We didn’t pay a lot for this holiday in retrospect of what some people pay but god it was not worth one penny of our money.
