About this property

A beautifully restored period property just minutes from Towan BeachA beautifully restored period property just minutes from Towan Beach

Renowned for its' surfing culture, Newquay’s undoubted attraction is the magnificent stretch of stunning coastline the Cornish town is positioned along. The rugged north Atlantic Coast draws inspiration from every view point with expansive stretches of golden sands merging with isolated coves to create a truly magnificent scene.

Hobart House is a beautifully restored period property, rumoured to have been a sea captain's house. The property retains many of its original features, with high ceilings, large bay windows and stripped floorboards. From the living area guests can gaze over the dramatic coastline or simply step onto the balcony for some fresh sea air. The rooms are spacious and bright with some also benefiting from sea views.

Newquay’s iconic surfing spot, Fistral Beach, is within easy walking distance and welcomes surfers of all ages and abilities. The Gannel Estuary is also nearby and offers fantastic walks along the breathtaking Atlantic coast and is ideal for fishing, bird watching, picnicking or simply relaxing. The town beaches of Towan and Tolcarne provide safe bathing on expanses of golden sands and are also a great place if you wish to try out a spot of surfing.

Whilst in the area, why not enjoy a round at one of the finest links courses in the South West, Newquay Golf Course. For those looking for an adrenaline rush, a visit to the Lusty Glaze Adventure Centre is a must, where activities on offer include rock climbing, abseiling and coasteering.

By travelling inland and away from the coast you will discover a variety of attractions, many set in wonderful Cornish scenery and providing a fun filled day out for all the family. Take a trip to visit the world famous Eden Project, stroll around the Lost Gardens of Heligan, take in the historic county capital Truro or simply journey around the rich tapestry of picturesque villages dotted throughout Cornwall.

After an exhausting day of surfing or exploring, it’s time to satisfy the taste buds, and with an excellent choice of food on offer, from beach front cafés to continental style brassieres, there really are gastronomic options to suit all occasions and tastes. For a special treat, head to one of the exclusive restaurants in the area, such as Jamie Oliver's Fifteen Cornwall, and indulge in some of the finest decadent delights the South West has to offer.

...was in a great location, tucked off the main drag in a quiet street, very central to the town's beaches, restaurants and bars. The house was very spacious and clean, and nicely decorated throughout. The house was great value for money and we would definitely use Blue Chip holidays again. Submitted by Katie on 11/05/2016
