About this property

A ground floor apartment within a large Victorian House overlooking Towan Beach in Newquay. Magnificently located with partial sea views from the living area, patio and gardens, this well-proportioned apartment will suit couples and small family with a spacious interior and high coved ceilings. Inside the open plan living area is fashionably styled for modern living, tastefully incorporating a beautifully fitted kitchen, designated dining area and elegantly furnished with reclining cream leather settees. Light streams through the large windows and patio door which leads out to a balcony with captivating sea vista. Steps lead down from the balcony onto the communal gardens which also overlook the bay. Set within secure grounds, access is via security coded electronic gates and each apartment has allocated parking for one car. A favourite resort for generations, Newquay is noted for its superb choice of beaches and a short walk will take you to the harbour, beach and Blue Reef Aquarium. There are many restaurants and pubs found in the town, our favourites are the Lewinnick Lodge and The Fish House at Fistral. Guests can also take opportunity to play a round of golf, visit the zoo or boating lake! Offering the best of both worlds, all will enjoy the bustle of a resort then return the sound of waves gently lapping onto the soft golden sands of Towan Beach.

Newquay is the home of the UK’s surf scene, boasting three major beaches, the National Surf Centre and an endless supply of rolling surf, making it a watersports paradise. The town, with its zoo, sea life centre and varied selection of restaurants and pubs, also promises a holiday to remember. For avid walkers, the South West Coast Path passes in both directions along a stunning coastline of high cliffs, hidden coves and yet more beaches. The quaint harbour and fishing village of Padstow is just 14 miles away, while Truro, with its museums, cathedral, restaurants and cobbled streets, as well as the Eden Project, can be reached within 45 minutes. Picturesque St Ives and the Tate St Ives gallery is around an hour's drive or a train ride away. In fact, because nothing in Cornwall is far from Newquay, it’s the perfect touring base.

Some of the issues cannot be resolved but we feel that they are better to be mentioned. On arrival, in the dark, wet, cold and snow we found the drive to steep for us to see any appropriate parking space. We parked in a space( not the correct one) and attempted to find the keys: What can we say!! In a dark shed, leaning across a smelly bin we were supposed to read and correctly identify the numbers. We decided at this point NEVER TO RETURN. Our first impression was not good. Once inside our apartment we were pleasantly surprised. We found everything clean and tidy and a big bin with a bag in it ready for our rubbish. Nothing anywhere informed us that there was differentiated recycling in place. This was found once we had filled our first bag. What a nightmare!!! Perhaps a laminated sheet attached to the wall above the bin would have helped to start in the correct manner. We found the cold water sink tap in the main bathroom to be not tightened so it just swivels . The shower in the master bedroom was extremely stiff to turn on. Finally on our last full day then scaffolding arrived at 8.30Am having woken us up to move our car. We were surprised as this had not been mentioned at any point throughout the booking process or our stay. Hope you find these comments constructive as they are meant to help. Yours Sue Vincent
