About this property

Experience - The Area...

Set in a superb position practically on the sheltered beach and cove in the pretty little village of Cawsand, this comfortable double glazed cottage has magnificent sea and coastal views across the bay towards Plymouth Sound and Breakwater.

The sand and shingle beach with rock pools is ideal for safe bathing and all forms of water activity and a summer ferry service departs from the beach and operates to Plymouth landing at the Barbican but it is not advised that guests rely on public transport for this property.

Cawsand itself has a pub and a lovely walk along the seas edge leads to the delightful twin village of Kingsand which has a P.O. and a few local shops. There are splendid walks along the coastal path to Mount Edgcumbe Country Park and out to Rame Head which is a haven for birdwatchers. Coarse fishing and golf are also available locally.

Stay - The Accommodation...

Entered through a walled pathway at the front, the stable door opens into a hallway with a coats area and an inner door leads through to a charming beamed sitting room with comfortable seating facing the fireplace, a unique oriel window and splendid views of the beach with boats of all sizes on the water. At the rear of the cottage is a pleasant kitchen/dining room with smart fitted units, country pine dining furniture and a rear stable door opening out to the private terrace.

Carpeted stairs lead up from the sitting room to a landing, a shower room W.C with hand basin, a separate W.C. and three attractive bedrooms. At the front is a large bedroom with zip linked beds giving the option of two singles or a 6ft double with windows overlooking the beach and far out to sea, a view shared with a light and airy single bedded room. Facing the rear, a double bedroom in a restful decor completes the accommodation.

To one side of the cottage, a couple of steps lead up to a secluded sun terrace which has a slight drop down to the path and there is also a useful former boathouse available for storage of bicycles and beachgear. It is possible to unload outside the property but parking is in the village car park less than 5 minutes walk away.

Don't forget...

- The demolition of the adjacent Cawsand Hotel has now taken place. The new development of apartments/restaurant is anticipated to be ready September 2018 together with a new sea defence wall; some disruption may occur during this time.
- A weekly car park ticket currently costs £36.40
- Towels are not available
- It is not advised that guests rely on public transport for this property
- Sorry, this property does not accept pets
