About this property

… in Cawsand, just around the corner from the little square, pub, shop and beach, a Grade II listed cottage with 1640 origins and low door lintels, said to have been the first cottage in the village and undoubtedly plenty of ‘baccy for the parson and brandy for the squire’ would have been stored in its secret places. At the back, a neat high-walled paved/cobbled garden shaded by an ancient apple tree with ‘secret’ door leading directly to the square via a narrow passage.

From the lane, 5’11” high door to flagstone cross passage; cosy sitting room with woodburner and TV/DVD/Blu-ray, iPod dock and 6’1” ceiling; little step down to living/dining room with granite inglenook (woodburner) and flagstone floor (rug); sun room (underfloor heating) with big glazed doors to garden; step down to neat fitted kitchen (dishwasher, washer-drier, fridge-freezer). Ground-floor loo. From living room, steep half-turn stairs (door at top) up to three bedrooms – a double (5' bed), a twin (washbasin), and another twin with limited clothes-hanging space; bathroom (suite, shower over bath). Parking permit for one vehicle provided. A special cottage.

"Comfortable cottage of great character and charm in a wonderful location. Very close to sea, pubs and shops, yet the cottage itself is a quiet haven. Secluded garden and sun room are particularly lovely. Very helpful notes from owner. We felt very lucky to have found Apple Tree Cot and Cawsand."
