A well-maintained and comfortable lodge located on the award-winning Atlantic Bays Holiday Park, Chalet 113 is a brilliant base for family holidays near the Cornish coast. The lodge has two bedrooms and a spacious open plan living area with a fitted kitchen and foldaway dining table. Guests can relax on the comfortable sofas in front of the TV or open the sliding doors to the outside patio area and enjoy a meal in the evening sun. There is plenty of space for the children to run around, they can explore the on-site play zone for children under twelve or play football on the play field. For the adults, the conservatory bar provides the perfect place to enjoy a refreshing drink on the decking. Just one mile from St Merryn and three miles from Padstow, there are plenty of bars, restaurants, pubs and amenities on the lodge's doorstep. A visit to Newquay's magnificent beaches is a must for surfers, alternatively take the time to discover the smaller coves along the coastline. A wonderful lodge, Chalet 113 is the perfect retreat for a holiday in this lovely part of Cornwall. St Merryn is a typical Cornish village, located within two miles of the coast and close to the harbour and fishing port of Padstow. St Merryn is a holidaymaker's dream, offering two pubs, three restaurants, mini markets and a Post Office, and remains within easy reach of the area's visitor attractions. Newquay is eleven miles down the road, boasting three major beaches, the National Surf Centre and an endless supply of rolling surf, making it a paradise for watersports enthusiasts. Newquay also offers good shopping, a zoo, a Sea Life centre and a variety of nightspots, clubs, pubs and restaurants. Set back from the main holiday crowds, St Merryn is an ideal base from which to explore the surrounding area at your leisure.

Had a really enjoyable stay at chalet 113 it was very clean and very comfortable and cosy on a nice site and nice and peaceful at night

The shower is not in working condition, the pressure is so low and the temperature unable to be controlled. There was a horrid smell coming from the kitchen on the third day of our stay which we were unable to locate or do anything about. The apartment was very over priced for the standard and condition of the apartment. Curtains and TV need upgrading.

Even then, the chalet was still dirty, the kitchen was the worst area, the tiles were covered in pink splatters above the sink area, the insides of the cupboards were dirty and the plates and cutlery were also dirty. There is a lack of basic items in the kitchen, from just 3 forks and 4 knives (in a chalet advertised as sleeping 5), no oven gloves, no chopping board and previous people have clearly used the table mats as chopping boards, no grill pan rack, and one rusty, flaking baking tray. There is also no freezer box in the fridge, so freezing ice packs for the cool bag so you take picnics out with you is not possible. I noticed previous feedback noted the dirt on the bathroom door, it's still there! The grouting and the seal around the bath all needs fixing, I also saw feedback from last year about the leaking bath/shower and clearly nothing has been done to fix that as the puddle on the floor still happens... the bedrooms are adequate for sleeping, the beds are comfy, but there is no storage other than a 3 drawer bedside table and a tiny hanging rail above it in both rooms. There is no storage anywhere for bags or belongings, we used the top bunk as storage as there was only 3 of us, space was tight all around and only one person at a time can use the kitchen, there's a folding dining table and chairs but no where to actually set it up and be able to get a family around it. Curtains throughout are poor, hooks missing from all of them. There's no WiFi and very poor signal at the chalet, so if you want to book trips online, do it whilst away from the chalet. The park itself is lovely, clean, quiet, recommend the burger van on a Monday evening! We never ate in the restaurant but it always looked busy and the menu looks very good. Small shop with the basics, Tesco in Padstow is the nearest big shop, there is a small premier shop in St. Merryn, and a chippy, Chinese... but parking there is chaos and always a big queue at the chippy. There is a Chinese that delivers to the park entrance. Cleanliness aside, the chalet is a good base for touring around Cornwall and the beaches at Padstow are beautiful, but are a fair walk from the parking. You can get to st Georges bay beach by wheelchair, but it's a bumpy ride in places! Wouldn't recommend this chalet for more than 3 people though due to the compact size.
