About this property

Badharlick Granary is an attractive, detached barn conversion dating from the 17th century, situated within a peaceful and tranquil location, on a farm on the edge of the village of Egloskerry, yet within easy reach of the historic town of Launceston. Resting on the picturesque border of Devon and Cornwall, this heart-warming retreat is ideal for a family seeking to explore the delights of North Cornwall with its beautiful coastline, as well as the moors of Bodmin and Dartmoor National Park.

On the ground-floor you will find two stylish bedrooms, offering tranquil spaces to retire to each evening. The twin bedroom enjoys charming character features with ample storage, whilst the master bedroom enjoys a king-size bed and a well-appointed en-suite, with a walk-in shower, basin and WC. There is a spacious sitting/dining room where you will find everything you could possibly need during a week-long break, in addition to dual-aspect windows to ensure that the space is flooded with natural light and superb views. The contemporary kitchen comes with all the appliances you will require to prepare home-cooked meals before planning the day’s events at the dining table or sinking into the sofa to catch up on your favourite TV show. Relax and spend a moment or two within the enclosed courtyard garden, where you will be able to enjoy a spot of al fresco dining whilst your canine companions stretch their legs. Within easy reach are Bodmin Moor and Dartmoor National park, where you will find miles of walking routes amid breath-taking scenery, as well as the coastal towns of Bude, Port Isaac, Padstow, Crackington Haven, Tintagel, Boscastle and Trebarwith Strand.

Your nearest beach is at Crackington Haven – a lovely cove dominated by majestic cliffs suitable for swimming and surfing and dog friendly for part of the year. There are also many beaches nearby that are dog friendly all year round. If you can tear yourself away from this delightful base, venture to the town of Launceston, where you will find a selection of pubs and restaurants to enjoy, as well as a selection of shops to explore one afternoon. Within the town, you will also find the ruins of the 13th-century keep, a number of golf courses and the Steam Railway which offers 5-mile round trips on the North Cornwall line. Badharlick Granary is an outstanding accommodation for exploring this part of Cornwall and Devon.

Launceston is a town resting on the Devon and Cornwall border. Within the town you will find Georgian buildings in the central square which are overlooked by the ruins of a Norman castle. Within the town you will also find a selection of shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as a golf course and the river Kensey. Just 3 miles away is Tamar Otter Park or you can take a steam train Launceston through the beautiful Kensey Valley.

A great dog walk right on the doorstep too for necessary strolls down to the woods and stream. The Granary is well equipped with everything you could possibly need to feel like a home from home and is exceptionally clean throughout. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely return if we were in the area again. 100% recommended 5*****

The house is beautiful, very clean, comfortable and full of character, a home from home. Lots of beautiful coastline hiking nearby. We really fell in love with the ruggedness of the Atlantic coast and cliffs. Sarah and Bryan were excellent hosts. We will definitely be back.
