Experience - The Area...

Just a 15 minute drive east to the picturesque harbours of Polperro and Looe and only 3 miles west to Fowey via the Bodinnick Ferry, this sensitively converted, former 17th Century granary loft stands in a peaceful rural setting.

With breathtaking views down over the fields to the sea from Pencarrow Head to Lantivet Bay, Carneggan Barn is only a short distance from the South West Coast Path and the secluded beaches of Lansallos and Lantic Bay.

The nearest pubs are at the villages of Polruan and Bodinnick each 2.5 miles and there is a village store and post office at Pelynt, 4 miles to the east.  Pleasure trips on the water are available at Looe, Polperro and Fowey as well as a good selection of shops and a wealth of local foodie delights to sample and enjoy.

Stay - The Accommodation...

Approached by a gated driveway where there is ample parking, the front door set beneath an open porch roof leads to the first floor entrance hall where there is a utility room with W.C. and hand basin.

Leading off to one side is a bright and sunny double height sitting room with timber beams rising to the apex of the roof, comfortable lounge seating and a dual aspect of panoramic sea views on one side and the garden and fields on the other.

Wooden stairs lead down to a half landing and a large, lofty kitchen/dining room set in the Old Mill with a 300 year old beam running the length of the room, a rustic dining suite and an electric cooker to supplement the gas fired Aga.  From here, a stable door opens onto a walled terrace on the seaward side with garden table and chairs.

Uncarpeted stairs continue down to the ground floor where there are a bathroom W.C. with wash basin and hand shower fitment to the bath and three bedrooms; a light, airy twin room, a smaller twin room and a large double bedroom with a king-size bed and en-suite shower room W.C. and hand basin. All bedrooms look across the countryside to the sea on the horizon.

There is a large fenced and gated grassy area at the front of the property ideal for children to let off steam; pets need to be kept under control in this farming region.

An extremely spacious barn conversion, well equipped and beautifully decorated. Suited to families or a group who want to truly get away from it all. Peaceful and cosy, a rural haven.

Well located for access to local attractions. Very spacious, even for a large family.
