So step back in time, relax and enjoy this unspoilt, picture postcard village.

Internally the cottage is set over three floors and has been beautifully furnished with nautical highlights. The cottage features exposed stone walls, window seats and a cosy flame-effect fire. Externally, Libbys Cottage offers a small front patio area complete with seating for four.

Polperro is arguably one of the prettiest villages in Cornwall, characterised by a jumble of fishermen’s cottages and colourful boats anchored in the harbour. Here you will also find a handful of shops, cafes and restaurants to enjoy along with the Polperro Museum and The Shell House - a popular local attraction. The area is also ideal for keen walkers, with spectacular coastal walks within easy reach. There is a small sandy beach in Polperro at low tide.

Be sure to visit the miniature village or take a boat trip from the harbour. Polperro also hosts a music festival each year and celebrates Bonfire night with spectacular fireworks. There is a local golf course at nearby Looe, National Trust houses, the Duchy garden centre and much more within easy reach.

Within a short drive you will reach Looe, a popular resort with gift shops, fish and chip stalls and a family-friendly beach. Be sure to also make the short drive to Fowey, a charming fishing town with a selection of boutiques and art galleries. Fowey holds many events throughout the year including the popular Fowey Royal Regatta and the Daphne du Maurier literary festival. If you feel like a day on the water you can hire kayaks and boats or join a cruise along the river.

We stayed at Libby's cottage, Polperro in March 2016. We took our dog as it was a dog friendly cottage. I wasn't aware the cottage was on three floors. Kitchen on the ground floor, bedrooms on the second floor and living room on the third floor. Due to the age of the property the stairs are steep and uneven and there is a stair gate on the ground floor with a note saying dogs are not allowed upstairs. So if your dog likes spending time with you, Libby's cottage is not for you. The cottage is a long walk from the car park and would strongly recommend using the local luggage taxi advertised. However the cottage is beautiful, comfortable and we very much enjoyed staying there.

Polperro was a great location & Libbys Cottage was to a very high standard. Could not fault any of the holiday experience.

My husband and I recently spent 3 nights at Libby's Cottage in Polperro, to celebrate our Ruby wedding anniversary. We simply could not have chosen a better cottage. It is situated in The Warren, close to the harbour and is a very attractive property externally - with a quirky layout within. The front door opens into a very well equipped and spacious kitchen with a window seat, round table & chairs and wooden floors. From the kitchen quite steep stairs with an oar for a handrail on one side and a rope on the other lead to two stunning bedrooms, with extremely comfortable beds and delightful soft furnishings. Up a further flight of quite steep stairs, again with excellent handrails the entire third floor is given over to a light, spacious living room with views over the rooftops. There are 2 comfortable settees plus two elegant chairs, plus a television and an electric fire that looks like a log burner. The entire cottage is furnished and decorated to an amazingly high standard and the owner obviously has an excellent feel for interior design. The cottage is lovely and warm and so very peaceful. Just behind the kitchen there is a very smart bathroom with a nice, hot and powerful double shower. The cottage is within easy walking distance of the harbour and the coastal path. Although quite steep the coastal path has many wooden benches on which to sit and and rest or just admire the view. It is not possible for a car to get to the cottage but a reserved space in the car park at the top of the village is included in the cost and luggage can be brought down for you by quad bike & trailer. It is a pleasant 750 metre stroll downhill through the village to reach the cottage. The owners welcome a well behaved dog and our whippet was very happy there, particularly enjoying meeting with other dogs on the small sandy beach and watching people walking by. I cannot recommend this cottage highly enough. It is very special and gave us a long weekend we will remember for a very long time. We will most definitely be back!
