About this property

Just half a mile from the stunning South West Coastal Path and the secluded beach at Lansallos Cove, this 200 year old, double-fronted traditional cottage is set in the tiny churchtown of Lansallos, to the east of the Fowey River. Reached by quiet narrow lanes, a gravel driveway offers parking for a car and boat trailer.

A garden path leads to the entrance porch with a quarry tiled floor and inner door to the front hallway. The ground floor accommodation consists of a warm and cosy sitting room with comfortable seating and an electric real flame fire, and a country pine fitted kitchen with a matching dining suite.

A carpeted staircase leads up from the hall and divides at the top; on one side is a double bedroom and on the opposite side is a twin bedded room and a bathroom W.C. with wash basin and shower over the bath. Both cottage-style bedrooms have hand basins and views of the surrounding unspoilt countryside with an oblique glimpse of the sea.

At the front of the property is a patio area with a couple of steps leading up to a small sloping grassy garden; children will require supervision as there is an unguarded drop down to the lane. The owners live in a small single storey extension to one side of the original cottage.

The picturesque harbour at Polperro is 2 miles by road where there are a selection of shops, pubs and restaurants, and the larger resort of Looe, 6 miles away, has a wider choice of amenities and a sandy beach. Polruan and Bodinnick are about 4.5 miles respectively and each have a quaint old pub and a ferry operating to Fowey. The attractive beach at Lansallos is about a 20 minute walk down a fairly steep path which leads through the woods and fields high above the sea.

There are excellent walks leading out to Pencarrow Head where there are fine views across Lantic and Lantivet Bays; Polruan to the west and Polperro to the east are 3 miles respectively via the Coastal Footpath. There are also a wealth of boat trips available locally both up river and out to sea. The Eden Project, Lanhydrock House and Bodmin Moor are all within easy driving distance.

Please note: No children under the age of 5 years - No cot (carrycot not accepted). Two electric radiators and three oil filled heaters - inclusive.
